Gangnam hair salon for wedding khaki-brown color: Anew Hair

As my wedding photo shoot approached, I wondered whether I really needed to color my hair. But people around me said that, in actual studio photos, coloring it helps the fine strands look prettier when the hair is styled differently, you know? So I visited Anew Hair, a salon near Gangnam-gu Office Station known for wedding coloring and hair consultations!

Let me show you the before-and-after photos first! Before coloring, there were definitely some red tones and patchiness left, which made it look a little messy. Afterward, it looked much cleaner and my hair itself looked healthier, so I was happy that it photographed well too :)

Anew Hair Cheongdam Main Branch: Location and Atmosphere

It is close to both Gangnam-gu Office Station and Seonjeongneung Station, so it is easy to get to by subway!

It is on the second floor of the building, so the natural light is lovely, and the salon atmosphere itself was so nice!

What I especially loved was how comfortably I could sit during the service, so it was neither uncomfortable nor boring! While waiting with the dye on, I sat at the center table, and the chairs were comfortable enough that sitting for a long time was totally fine, haha.

Hair Consultation Before a Wedding Photo Shoot

I booked with Senior Director Soyoon. She has lots of experience with wedding color services and wedding consultations, so I felt I could trust her even more!

When you visit, you fill out a simple questionnaire for the hair consultation before starting. I said I wanted a matte brown around levels 7–8, but I had not decided on an exact shade. Director Soyoon asked whether it was for the wedding day itself or a photo shoot, checked which studio I was using, and recommended colors that would suit me!

My hair looked a little messy beforehand, so we decided on khaki brown to color it without any red tones, and got started right away!

The Khaki-Brown Coloring Process

It had been quite a long time since I last colored my hair, so I was very worried about whether the color would take well. I had been told in advance that if it had been a long time since coloring, it might turn out a little darker than the shade I wanted. After first checking my history of treatments such as perms and coloring, they carefully applied the dye according to my hair condition.

They checked how things were going along the way and adjusted the timing and color. In my case, the color was not lifting as well as expected, so they checked the result midway and applied another round of dye to make sure I could get the shade I wanted!

They also prepared a simple drink and cookies for me while I waited, so time flew by as I drank an iced Americano and used my phone! It took just over two hours from consultation to finish.

How the Color Changed Three Days Later

I had the coloring done three days ago, and after washing my hair, the color showed up a little more clearly than it did right after the service! Once it was finished, my hair looked much healthier too, and the patchiness was covered evenly and cleanly. It made me think I was really glad I had colored it before the shoot.
