Hongdae chicken pub happy hour: 3,900-won cocktails at Goobne Red Road

I really love Goobne Chicken's Gochu Basasak (spicy crispy fried chicken) hahaha — especially the Hapjeong branch, where the owner is super kind and the place is hip, so I go often haha. Today I was out on a Hongdae date with Bambi and made a point of tracking down Goobne to pick up chicken!!

Where is Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road, and what does it look like?

Goobne Chicken Hongdae Red Road sits right on Hongdae's festival street! (Smack in the middle of the hotspot area haha)

The exterior alone is totally hotspot material hahaha. It feels more like a pub than a chicken shop!

This Hongdae branch is genuinely... so clean inside!

The chairs and tables have total hotspot energy hahaha. With the red lighting, it definitely feels even more atmospheric!

Self-serve bar, the first-floor open-air bar and the restrooms

And there's an unlimited self-serve bar too! You can freely grab pickled radish, sauces, and utensils!

Absolutely perfect for beer and a snack!!!!! (A proven side dish and a hip vibe. Why wouldn't you go?)

The first floor has big open windows so you can eat while catching a breeze,

and there's a separate open-air bar area!! You can push tables together, so it'd be great for meeting friends or even a work dinner

My favorite point..! The restroom is seriously so clean!!! When you drink beer, you end up going to the bathroom a lot, right? (whisper whisper) So I always check the bathroom situation when I'm drinking, and here it's separated by gender and super clean, so it's the best hahahaha

There are a total of 54 seats on the 2nd floor alone — it's a genuinely huge pub!!!

Pizza for a group and 3,900-won happy hour cocktails before 10pm

They even host pizza parties!! If you live near Hapjeong or Hongdae and love parties, or just moved to the neighborhood and need friends nearby, this kind of party would be perfect!

True to the pub concept, they have tons of drink options!! And there's even happy hour!!!! Before 10pm, cocktails are only 3,900₩!!!!! If you're looking for a whiskey bar or cocktail bar in Hapjeong that nails value, vibe, and taste all at once, come here!!

An unlimited free Lemon Drop cocktail too! And honestly, the owner is really young but so kind!!!! He always treats us so nicely that it puts me in a good mood hahahahaha. We placed a to-go order today and waited in the car, and once the chicken was ready, the owner knocked on our car window and brought it out to us personally!!!!!! (Owner is the best)

Boneless Gochu Basasak (spicy crispy chicken) with beer

Goobne's Gochu Basasak.. need I say more! It's already a proven favorite hahahahaha. And somehow it feels way less guilt-inducing than other fried chicken haha

Stunning visuals... the chicken was fried so well!! You could definitely tell they use fresh oil since it's a newly opened store haha

The cross-section of the chicken.. gorgeous. So juicy!! And tender!!!!!! You have to eat this at least once a week.

Eating it with beer.. pure happiness in this world ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ We were clearly already full but the chicken kept going in endlessly lol, and in the end we finished it all in one go plus four cans of beer.. ^_^ (It's fine, delicious food doesn't make you gain weight)
