Geomdan Korean BBQ a la carte, ₩50,900 for two: Euljiro Yeontan Gui
In short
Euljiro Yeontan Gui Majeon Branch is a charcoal-grill Korean BBQ restaurant in Geomdan, Incheon, where you grill the meat yourself over briquette fire. Instead of the signature pork-by-the-geun platter, we ordered a la carte — two servings of dwitgogi (off-cut pork), two of gochujang pork belly and one of pork skin, with bibim naengmyeon, doenjang jjigae and a soju-beer round — for 50,900 won for two. The best bite at Euljiro Yeontan Gui was brushing the gochujang pork belly sauce onto the dwitgogi and pork skin before grilling.

Yesterday was Friday and I suddenly craved meat cooked outside the house — you know that smoky charcoal flavor, right? You just can't get it at home. So I went to Euljiro Yeontan Gui Majeon Branch and here's my review haha.

Euljiro Yeontan Gui grills meat directly over charcoal, just like the name says. I only found out it's pet-friendly while writing this post...? Haha, you can bring your furry little rascal along!

Here's what the exterior looks like.

There was space to park right in front of the restaurant. But if you're eating meat, you can't skip the drinks, right? (Just me? haha.) It's about a 5-minute walk from Geomdan Sageori Station, so if you're planning to drink, it's also easy to get to by public transit!

Inside Euljiro Yeontan Gui: room seating for up to 15
There were customers inside so I couldn't take many photos, sorry. That other section was full too, but once two parties finished up, I snuck in a quick shot. The layout was interesting — the inner area was hidden from view, so sitting further in probably feels pretty private. Since there really is room seating, I'm guessing a group was in there. With up to 15 people fitting in the room, it seems great for a company dinner too.

There was a bunch of stuff stuck to that glass so I zoomed in haha. Looks like customers leave sticky-note messages in a kind of guestbook — I should've written one too...

Next to that were some autographs — no idea whose, but I'll take it as a sign it's delicious! haha

Sold by 100g: ordering dwitgogi and gochujang pork belly a la carte
This place unusually sells meat by 100g, which is great because you can try a bunch of different menu items! They have pork, beef, seafood, and rice dishes too — plenty of variety, and pretty reasonably priced.

The side dishes were all set out. My husband loved the seasoned lettuce salad and jeongguji (garlic chives) and ate them right up haha. I'm not from Gyeongsang Province, but somehow calling it jeongguji instead of buchu just makes it taste better, you know that feeling?

The restaurant's signature dish is the pork-by-the-geun (about 600g) set, but being the rebel that I am, I ordered à la carte instead haha.

We ordered two servings of rear pork and two of gochujang pork belly, but of course we couldn't stop there, so we later added pork skin too.

The meat comes with frozen mu-saengchae (radish salad). I'd never had it like this before — apparently it's meant to be eaten while still frozen, the staff explained.

No Korean BBQ meal is complete without this — garlic and bean sprout kimchi grilled right alongside the meat.
What's on the self-serve bar: pineapple and pickled radish wraps
There's a self-serve bar with cutlery and side dishes to help yourself to, but as I was writing this post, I just made a chilling discovery — there was pineapple and pickled radish there...?? I spent the whole meal just eating meat, snapped a quick photo of the self-bar on my way out, and only now do I realize those were sitting right there...? Pineapple with meat is so good, how did I only just find this out. Next time, checking the self-bar first...

Time for a drink haha. Meat with somaek (soju-beer mix) is a classic!

How to grill gochujang pork belly: sear first, then sauce
For the gochujang pork belly, they tell you to grill it plain first, then brush on the gochujang sauce and grill it again. This sauce was so good that my husband ended up grilling all the meat in it haha.

He wrapped a neat little ssam and popped it straight into my mouth — I mean his mouth. Well, life is every man for himself.

Bibim naengmyeon with broth, and doenjang jjigae for 2,000 won
I don't have great memories of naengmyeon at Korean BBQ places, so I rarely order it, but my husband's a bibim naengmyeon lover, so we got it. We always like to pour the broth in, and it was nice that broth came alongside it. Before adding the broth, you should taste it first to check if it's even worth adding — sometimes it tastes like rubber gloves haha. But this one passed the test. After pouring in the broth and mixing it with the sauce, it turned out surprisingly good — this place really knows how to make sauce.

After all that meat, we started craving carbs, so we ordered rice with doenjang jjigae. It tasted exactly like the doenjang jjigae you'd expect at a Korean BBQ place. A ₩2,000 jjigae, not bad right? Near the end we poured the leftover rice in and scooped it up like a doenjang rice-porridge.

At the end, we brushed the leftover gochujang sauce onto the grilled pork skin too. We dipped everything in the sauce, so we asked the staff to change the grill plate a good number of times, and they were seriously so kind about it. My husband was full of compliments too, saying the staff made the whole meal so pleasant.
Feeling good, so let's have another drink~

There's also a receipt event, so make sure to grab one of those too~

On the way out, I noticed they even had fabric deodorizer ready in case your clothes smell like meat. I skipped it and just left, though — I'll take that meat-and-charcoal smell home with me.
Everything two people ordered and the 50,900 won bill
Here's what we ordered for two at Euljiro Yeontan Gui Majeon Branch that day, for a total of ₩50,900.
- Rear pork (dwitgogi) × 2
- Gochujang pork belly × 2
- Pork skin × 1
- Doenjang jjigae × 1
- Bibim naengmyeon × 1
- Rice × 1
- Soju × 1
- Beer × 1
We were given a meal voucher, but we paid the difference above its value ourselves. Eating this much for around ₩50,000 — the price is really great too haha.
Is Euljiro Yeontan Gui in Geomdan worth it? Final verdict
The cozy atmosphere plus meat grilled directly over charcoal, just as the name promises, means the smoky flavor really soaks into the meat — it was so good. Focusing just on the meat itself, I personally liked the rear pork best, but the gochujang pork belly's sauce was so good that I'd recommend ordering both together and brushing the leftover sauce onto the rear pork too.
If you like eating with rice, go for the doenjang jjigae with rice; if you like noodles, try the bibim naengmyeon. If I had to pick just one, I'd vote for the bibim naengmyeon haha.
More than anything, every single staff member was so incredibly kind, which made the whole meal feel great from start to finish. No matter how good the food is, if the service is bad you never go back — but this place had both great food and great service, the kind of place I'd happily pay full price to visit again. If you're in Geomdan Sageori or Majeon-dong looking for somewhere to grill meat and have a soju in the evening, I highly recommend Euljiro Yeontan Gui Majeon Branch!
