As the weather cools down I've been craving a patio dinner soooooo bad haha, so today I went with Bambi to Jju Baksa near my place!!

Where is Jju Baksa Magok Branch, and how far from Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station?

Jju Baksa Magok Branch is a 2-minute walk from Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station Exit 8!! Access from the station is amazing haha. Crack open a cold beer at the outdoor tables in the evening, then take a walk around nearby Magok Botanic Park — so good.

This is the outdoor patio at Jju Baksa!! Total Magok version of Euljiro haha. The patio setup is really well done! Probably why it's always packed with customers in the evening.

The 33,000 won bokkeumbap set, with jjusamgyeop swapped for jjuusam

~~~Check out the Jju Baksa menu~~~ I ordered the bokkeumbap (fried rice) set, and swapped the jjusamgyeop (spicy octopus with pork belly) for jjuusam (octopus with beef brisket)! The fried rice set is only 33,000 won — such a great value for a patio restaurant.
After ordering they set up the table really fast haha. There are a lot of staff, so even with lots of customers everything gets set up super quickly!!
Complimentary corn cheese and the self-serve bar at Jju Baksa
Delicious-looking corn cheese comes as a free side dish!! So good to snack on with a drink while waiting for the food haha. There's a lot of it too, so we saved some to mix into the fried rice later — absolutely amazing!!
There's also a self-serve bar! Perilla leaves, bean sprouts, pickled radish and more — just help yourself if you need more, which is so nice.
Since it's a pretty famous patio restaurant in Magok, there are tons of celebrity signatures too!!
Ordering is easy through the kiosk on the table! Super convenient when it's packed with customers during lunch hour haha.
How much jjuusam do you get in the two-person portion?
After a short wait, our jjuusam was ready!!!! The patio vibe is seriously insane... Feeling that cool breeze while eating jjuusam with soju — this place is basically heaven.
Plus the view from the patio is a forest!!! Makes it even more relaxing.
Jjuusam for two! I was shocked at how much food there was!
Loads of beef brisket, stir-fried octopus, and even rice cakes! It comes out in a portion big enough that two grown men would still have leftovers.
The cheese egg custard that comes with the set!
There's seriously.. so much cheese it overflows! Haha. Eating the salty cheese together with the egg is sweet, salty, and savory all at once — insane. You guys have to get this one!!
Staff stir-fry the jjuusam right at your table
The staff grill the jjuusam for you right there!!!
The visual is unbelievably mouth-watering...
It cooked up in about 5 minutes! (Since it's beef brisket, it seems to cook even faster!)
Such tender beef brisket! I grabbed one piece and... it was seriously so good ㅠㅠㅠㅠ The rich, savory flavor of the brisket combined with the spicy-sweet sauce is so delicious!! Umami explosion!!!!
There's cheese rice cake too! Way better than plain rice cake haha.
We also made lettuce wraps with perilla leaves — bean sprouts, rice, meat, and octopus piled on top! The perilla aroma pairs so well with everything, so we made a ton of wraps haha.
Finishing with bokkeumbap, topped with cheese
There was so much food I wondered if we could finish it all, but before we knew it — with a side of pickled kimchi ^^ — the bokkeumbap (fried rice) from the set was ready!
Ingredients for the bokkeumbap prepared as part of the set
The bokkeumbap is also made right there by the staff, and once it's done they sprinkle a ton of cheese on top, making it even more delicious haha.
Such a gorgeous visual — the sauce is so good and bold in flavor that we added a bit more sauce ourselves while it was frying + chopped up extra perilla leaves and threw those in too!! Haha.
Finishing bokkeumbap fried with extra cheese and perilla leaves
Such a gorgeous visual...!! Spicy-sweet fried rice, savory cheese, and that perilla aroma all coming together as one team.. this place really is heaven.
And that's how we ended up crushing four bottles of soju again! Hahaha. If you're looking for a great patio restaurant near Yangcheon Hyanggyo, or looking for a really delicious lunch spot at Yangcheon Hyanggyo Station!!!! I highly recommend Jju Baksa Magok Branch.
