In short
Deo Chadol is a duck brisket BBQ restaurant in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi, within walking distance of Seonbawi Station. On a weekend evening visit, the couple course came with 200g of grilled duck brisket, 300g of seasoned duck stir-fry, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and self-fried rice, and saving the restaurant on Naver Place added a free iced persimmon. Where Deo Chadol is and where to park: a Gwacheon duck BBQ walk from Seonbawi Station
We took a weekend trip to Gwacheon. After walking around all day, it was suddenly dinnertime, and while looking for somewhere hearty nearby, we found Deo Chadol. I searched for Gwacheon restaurants and ended up here — and the short version is, we ate so well and so full that I'd love to come back next time I'm in Gwacheon.
Deo Chadol was easy to spot, just a short walk from Seonbawi Station. There's a dedicated parking lot right in front too, so it looked convenient to visit by car. Dedicated parking available.

How long is the weekend evening wait at Deo Chadol?
A lot of guests seemed to be stopping in after visiting Seoul Land or the National Science Museum of Korea. If you're searching for a Seoul Land restaurant in Gwacheon or a National Science Museum restaurant, this looked like a solid spot to visit with family too.
We came on a weekend evening, and there were already tons of diners. We put our name down for the wait, and there were chairs out front where we could sit comfortably while we waited. Seeing a wait on a weekend evening only built up my expectations before we'd even eaten.

You order through the kiosk on the table. No need to flag down staff — you can just browse the menu at your own pace and order right from your seat, which was convenient.

What's in the Deo Chadol couple course: 200g duck brisket, 300g stir-fry and fried rice
Since we wanted a really filling dinner, we ordered the Deo Chadol couple course. It comes with duck brisket BBQ (200g), seasoned duck stir-fry (300g), doenjang jjigae, and self-fried rice.
- Duck brisket BBQ 200g
- Seasoned duck stir-fry 300g
- Doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew)
- Self-fried rice
Going from the duck brisket to the stir-fry and finally the fried rice, we got to try several dishes in one order, which was great. It was a pretty hearty spread for two people's dinner too.
Receipt review and Place-save events, plus what kids get
Deo Chadol wasn't just about the food — they had a bunch of events running too. At the time of our visit, there was a receipt review event where you could choose either grilled cheese or a drink, and a store-save event where saving the restaurant on Naver, Kakao, or T map got you a free iced persimmon.
They also had drinks and marble ice cream ready for kids, so it seemed like a great place to visit with children too. There really were a lot of families there, and between the parking, the food, and the kids' snacks, it made sense why so many families come here.

The side dish spread and how the grilled duck brisket tastes
Once we sat down, the base spread came out quickly — various vegetables, side dishes, and sauces to pair with the meat, so we could mix and match to our taste. With doenjang jjigae on top of that, it already felt like a proper dinner.
First up on the grill was the duck brisket. It's sliced thin, so it cooked fast and we didn't have to wait long to dig in. Taking a bite of the well-cooked duck brisket, the savory flavor really came through.

The meat felt clean and fresh, and I liked the soft texture typical of thinly sliced duck brisket.
We dipped it in the special sauce, tried it with just salt and pepper, and wrapped it up with vegetables too. Even with the same duck brisket, the flavor shifted a bit depending on how we ate it, so it never got boring. Especially the mild but savory taste kept me reaching for more.
We came here searching for Gwacheon restaurants, and the very first dish already satisfied us, so we were naturally looking forward to the next one.

How is the seasoned duck stir-fry? Sauce and meat in balance
After we'd worked through the duck brisket, we moved on to the duck stir-fry. Honestly, this was one of the dishes I enjoyed most that day. The sauce wasn't overpoweringly strong — it blended really well with the meat, and I kept going back for more.

If the duck brisket was mild and savory, the stir-fry brought a whole different mood with the sauce's rich umami. Getting to enjoy two very different styles of duck in one course made it that much more satisfying.

Ending the meal with self-fried rice and iced persimmon
And after all that seasoned grilled meat, you can't skip the fried rice. At the end, we made self-fried rice with the leftover sauce. Even though we were already pretty full, finishing with the fried rice felt like the proper way to wrap things up, and we walked out completely satisfied.
After the meal, we took part in the Naver Place save event too. Saving Deo Chadol on Naver Place got us a free iced persimmon, and after eating our way through the duck brisket, stir-fry, and fried rice, that cool, sweet iced persimmon hit the spot perfectly. Getting to close out the meal with dessert too made it a satisfying finish. It's a simple event — just save it on Naver Place — so if you visit, don't miss it.

A dinner to pair with Seoul Land or Gwacheon National Science Museum
If you're looking for a Seoul Land restaurant in Gwacheon, this seems like a good stop for dinner after spending the day there with kids. The walls were covered with autographs from various celebrities. I'd heard it had been featured on TV, so it was fun to spot all the traces of that around the restaurant — I'd read it was introduced on a KBS program as a restaurant recommended by actor Ryu Seung-ryong, and after eating there myself, I understood why so many people come.
Personally, the duck brisket was great, but I especially loved how the well-balanced duck stir-fry led into the fried rice at the end. If you'd rather enjoy several dishes in sequence than just stick to one menu item, the couple course suits that perfectly.

If you're looking for a National Science Museum restaurant in Gwacheon, or a solid meal after touring the museum, or planning a day that combines Seoul Land and Gwacheon, this is worth stopping by for dinner. Duck brisket BBQ, duck stir-fry, doenjang jjigae, and fried rice — we left Deo Chadol completely full. It was such a satisfying meal on this Gwacheon trip that I'd like to come back next time I'm in the area. If you're searching for a Seoul Land or National Science Museum restaurant in Gwacheon and want a hearty meal with family, or if you just love duck, give the Deo Chadol couple course a try.
