Yeoju Korean BBQ restaurant: ₩59,000 pork platter for two, Hwassi2192
In short
Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2 is an oak-fired Korean BBQ restaurant in Ganam-eup, Yeoju, Gyeonggi. The wood-fired pork platter for two costs 59,000 won and brings 160g pork belly, 160g pork neck and 120g pork jowl with a complimentary steamed egg, and Hwassi2192 also serves beef brisket doenjang (soybean paste) stew as a side. Yeoju has its own outlet mall and so many golf courses that plenty of people must be looking for somewhere to eat before or after a round! Especially after golf, sometimes you just crave a hearty meat meal. This time I visited Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2, where you can get everything from pork to Korean beef to eel in one place, making it great for group visits.

Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2: hours, closing day and parking
Hwassi2192 Nam-Yeoju Branch 2 is located at 939 Yeojunam-ro, Gama-eup, Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It's open daily from 11:00 to 21:30, closed every Monday, and has its own parking lot.

Does Hwassi2192 have private rooms for groups in Yeoju?
Walking into Hwassi2192, the atmosphere is quite a bit cleaner and more spacious than a typical BBQ restaurant. There are plenty of tables, but what I really liked was that there's a separate private room.

It seemed like a great spot for a meal with a group after golf, or for family gatherings and casual company dinners where you want to chat comfortably. Even though it's a BBQ place, the overall feel is quite polished, so it wouldn't feel out of place to bring your parents or host guests here!

The menu at Hwassi2192: pork, Korean beef and grilled eel
What was unusual about Hwassi2192 was just how varied the meat selection is. Alongside pork cuts like belly, neck, and jowl, they also serve Korean beef striploin and brisket, plus grilled eel.
Beyond the signature wood-fired platter, there are also specials like the 1++ grade sirloin set and the eel special, giving plenty of options if you want to go all out. That day we were craving pork, so we ordered the pork platter! It let us try belly, neck, and jowl all at once, and came with a complimentary steamed egg, making for a satisfying spread.

Self-serve bar and banchan (side dishes)
The self-serve bar was neatly arranged so you could help yourself to the basic side dishes.

Before the meat arrived, a full spread of side dishes was set out, and I liked that they were the kind that actually pair well with the meat rather than just being numerous.

And there was the fluffy steamed egg too.

What comes in the 59,000 won wood-fired pork platter for two
The wood-fired platter for two we ordered, ₩59,000, comes with 160g pork belly, 160g pork neck, and 120g pork jowl, plus a complimentary steamed egg. Rather than eating just one cut, you get to try three popular pork cuts at once, which made it a great order for two people.
Above all, what sets Hwassi2192's meat apart is that it doesn't come out raw — it's first pre-grilled in a hot oak-wood furnace.

So at the table, you don't need to grill raw meat for ages from scratch — you just finish cooking the pre-grilled meat a bit more. They also provide grilling service, so you can just wait comfortably.

Even the pork jowl got nicely browned with the fat rendering out, and you could grill the kimchi alongside it properly too.

How the oak pre-grilled pork tastes without sauce
Hwassi2192's meat already carries a fair amount of basic seasoning, so I tried the first bite plain, without dipping it in anything — and it was plenty delicious just like that. The smoky flavor and salty seasoning were subtly worked in, so eating the meat alone without any sauce wasn't bland at all.

I ate the steamed egg in between bites, and also had a wrap with lettuce and the meat.

And there were mountain wild greens (myeongyi-namul) and perilla leaf pickled radish too! The side dishes really went well with the meat. Being able to try a variety of cuts — pork belly, neck, and jowl — felt like a real plus.

Beef brisket doenjang stew, ordered as a side
We also ordered the beef brisket doenjang stew (soybean paste soup) as a side, and it was warm and satisfying in that classic BBQ-restaurant style.

Verdict: Hwassi2192 after Yeoju outlets or a round of golf
Hwassi2192 was well-located for a visit after Yeoju Premium Outlets or the nearby golf courses. What stuck with me was that the meat is pre-grilled once over an oak-wood furnace, so it carries a subtle smoky flavor and seasoning that make it delicious even eaten plain. If you're looking for a clean, comfortable BBQ restaurant to enjoy with family, I'd recommend giving it a try. Thanks for the meal!
