Pocheon pasta restaurant lunch with a baby: truffle risotto, Oseuseu
In short
Oseuseu is a small Western restaurant run by a husband-and-wife team on Wangbang-ro 118beon-gil in Pocheon, Gyeonggi. For lunch with her husband and baby, the writer ordered grilled napa cabbage salad, shrimp rosé pasta, white pollack roe pasta, and truffle mushroom risotto, and the table cleared every plate, with the baby going for the truffle mushroom risotto most. The most memorable dish at Oseuseu was the one nobody expected much from: the grilled napa cabbage salad.

Oseuseu (오스스) is where my husband, our baby, and I went for lunch in Pocheon.
Honestly, when I first looked at the menu, there was one item I just couldn't wrap my head around: grilled napa cabbage salad. Wait, we came for pasta — do we really need to pay for cabbage? Haha.
But since it was apparently a signature dish, curiosity won and I ordered one anyway. The moment we tasted it, my husband and I both went, "Wait, what IS this?"
In the end, out of the four dishes we ordered that day, the cabbage was the tastiest — and the one I kept thinking about even after we got home, haha. The pasta was good too, but next time I go back to Oseuseu, I'm definitely ordering this again.

A restaurant with this kind of mood in central Pocheon?

Oseuseu is a small Pocheon restaurant run by a couple, tucked in a Pocheon neighborhood. These days Pocheon has so many big, flashy places — but this one is the opposite. Old wooden chairs and tables, plants, soft lighting all come together, and the moment you walk in, the atmosphere feels cozy.

It's not a lavishly decorated space, and maybe that's exactly why it feels more comfortable and warm. The tables were also spaced generously, so even sitting with the baby, I never felt self-conscious about the next table being too close. We went as a family outing, but the vibe itself would work just as well for a date or anniversary dinner in Pocheon.
Parking at Oseuseu: a free public lot one minute on foot

If you're driving, search "Oseuseu" or 경기 포천시 신읍동 90-1 in navigation. There's a free public parking lot just a 1-minute walk from the restaurant.
📍 Public parking lot — 23 Wangbang-ro 118beon-gil, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do
There's also space to park right in front of the building, though enforcement hours aren't separately posted. Enforcement runs 08:00–18:30, excluding the 11:30–13:30 lunch window. I parked right in front of the restaurant!
Why Oseuseu works for pasta in Pocheon with a baby

That day we visited as three: my husband, me, and our baby. Going to a Western restaurant with a kid always comes with worries — is there a baby chair, is there kids' tableware, is the food too heavily seasoned?
Oseuseu has baby chairs, kids' tableware, and even kids' aprons ready to go. And overall, to my taste, the dishes we had that day weren't heavily seasoned. That actually worked in our favor, because there were dishes we could share with the baby. Especially the truffle mushroom risotto coming up later — our baby basically claimed it, haha.
What we ordered at Oseuseu

We ordered four things that day: grilled napa cabbage salad, shrimp rosé pasta, white pollack roe pasta, and truffle mushroom risotto.
At first I thought, "can the three of us really finish all this?" ... We finished it. Haha. We walked out having cleared every plate. None of the dishes overlapped in flavor, so ordering a bunch and sharing worked really well.
🥬 Grilled napa cabbage salad: the dish I doubted and loved

The overwhelming winner of the meal. Honestly, when I first saw it on the menu, I had zero expectations. I mean... it's cabbage, haha. We eat napa cabbage at home — did we really need to order it at a restaurant? But since it was a signature dish, I gave it a shot.
One bite in, my mind completely changed. Grilling it brings out the cabbage's natural sweetness in a way that's totally different from eating it raw. It doesn't feel like a side-salad afterthought — the napa cabbage becomes a dish in its own right.
What surprised me most was my husband. He's usually not into vegetable-forward dishes like this. But he devoured it, haha. We kept picking at it together and it disappeared in no time.
This stuck with me more than any of the pastas that day, and even after getting home I kept thinking, "ugh, I want that cabbage again." If it's your first time at Oseuseu, I'd say order this one for sure.
🍝 Shrimp rosé pasta at Oseuseu

The shrimp rosé pasta is a crowd-pleaser with basically no downside. It has the soft, creamy flavor rosé sauce is known for, without feeling too intense.
The shrimp were also meatier than I expected, which I appreciated. There's nothing sadder than picking up a shrimp in your pasta and finding it tiny, haha. Here, the shrimp were plump and had real presence, which made eating it together more satisfying.
Of the four dishes, this was the most familiar and easy to eat. If you're visiting with a group and ordering several Pocheon pasta dishes, this is a good one to have on the table.
🍄 Truffle mushroom risotto: our baby's number one

And this one... our baby's number one pick, haha. When the truffle mushroom risotto first arrived, I wondered whether the truffle aroma would put the baby off. But nope — the baby ate it so well. One bite led to wanting another, and another, and another, haha.
Overall the seasoning wasn't strong to my taste, and the soft, creamy texture of risotto seemed to make it easy for the baby to eat too. Of course every kid's palate and tolerance for different ingredients is different, so I'm not saying this works for every baby — but ours really loved it.
Which meant my husband and I got to eat our own pasta in peace, haha. When you take a baby out to eat and they actually eat well, that's half the battle won right there.

🍝 White pollack roe pasta at Oseuseu
Personally, among the pastas, the white pollack roe pasta stuck with me more. I assumed it would be mainly about the roe, but as I ate I found squid and clams mixed in too. So it wasn't just the salty punch of the roe — the added seafood gave the whole dish a much deeper flavor.
The white pollack roe seemed to tie the overall seasoning together nicely. It wasn't a style where the roe flavor overpowers everything — the noodles and seafood came together in good balance. If you want something a bit different from rosé, I'd recommend this one.
Lightly seasoned food, and all the better for it

Eating through all four dishes, the common thread was that none of the food was overpowering. It wasn't a style that hits you hard from the first bite with heavy seasoning or sauce. That made it easy to eat several dishes together without getting tired of any of them, and you could actually taste what each ingredient brought to the table.
The restaurant describes itself as using seasonal ingredients and building Western-style dishes with Korean ingredients folded in. Looking at dishes like the white pollack roe pasta or ones using aged kimchi, Oseuseu clearly has its own direction. Of what we ate, the napa cabbage showed off that character the best.
Oseuseu with a baby, and as a date spot too
I went with my kid and initially saw everything through the lens of a family outing. But sitting there, I realized this place would also work well as a Pocheon date spot. The lighting is soft and the space isn't loud, so it's a good setting for a slow, unhurried meal for two.
According to the restaurant, there's couple seating as well as group seating for 2 to 12 people. Alcohol and paid corkage are both available, so if you're thinking of bringing a bottle of wine for an anniversary dinner, it might be worth checking current terms in advance. Haha.
Came to Oseuseu for pasta, left thinking about the cabbage
This time my husband, our baby, and I visited together and left without leaving a single bite. The shrimp rosé pasta was easy and crowd-pleasing, the white pollack roe pasta had extra depth from the squid and clams, and the truffle mushroom risotto was a huge hit with our baby.
But the real twist of the day was, of course... the grilled napa cabbage salad. At first I thought, "why would anyone pay for this?" Haha. Now it's the first thing I'll order next time I go back. Even my husband, who usually skips vegetable dishes like this, kept eating it — that says it all.
If you're after Pocheon Western food that lets the ingredients speak for themselves rather than something flashy or heavily seasoned, or looking for a quiet Pocheon restaurant to eat in, this one's worth a visit. It was especially satisfying for a family looking for somewhere to eat Pocheon pasta with a baby. Next time I go, the cabbage is getting ordered again, no question, haha.
