Namyangju restaurant with mezze paccheri truffle pasta: Romaok

If you're driving around Namyangju, there's no shortage of places to eat, but finding somewhere that's both tasty and pretty is another story. This time I went to Romaok Riverside, where you can eat Italian food right by the Han River. It's the Namyangju branch of Romaok, which also runs locations in Gangnam and Magok.

The building has a hanok (traditional Korean house) motif, which is already lovely, and the Han River is right in front, so it seemed like a great spot for a date or anniversary. On top of that, the Romaok brand has been selected as a Blue Ribbon restaurant for 2026, following 2025. I thought it was just a pretty place, but the food was good too ••!!

Where is Romaok Riverside, and what are its hours?

Romaok Riverside is located at 16-13 Gangbyeonbuk-ro632beon-gil, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do, and hours are 11:00-21:30, with a break time from 15:00-17:00. Last order is 14:00 for lunch and 20:30 for dinner. There are high chairs and a dedicated kids' menu.

The 1st floor is Italian dining, the 2nd floor is a café and group reservation space, and on nice days you can even enjoy brunch or coffee on the rooftop while looking out at the Han River. So this isn't just a place to grab a meal and leave — it's perfect for a Namyangju date or drive course!

Finding the entrance on your first visit to Romaok Riverside

The entrance to Romaok Riverside can be a bit confusing the first time, so it helps to know in advance. The simplest way is to search 'Romaok Riverside' in your navigation app. It'll direct you toward the Namyangju Han River Sports Park public parking lot — look for the store on the far right side of the lot!!

• Coming from Suseok IC: turn left at Gaun intersection toward Seoul/Gangbyeon-buk-ro, then turn right toward Gangbyeon-buk-ro651beon-gil — about 4 minutes
• Coming from Topyeong IC: turn left toward Chuncheon/Yangpyeong/Seoul, then turn right toward Chuncheon/Yangpyeong/Guri Tower — about 3 minutes

Parking at Namyangju Han River Sports Park: how much does it cost?

You can park at the Namyangju Han River Sports Park lot right in front of the restaurant. Parking is also super cheap••• first hour free, then ₩200 per 10 minutes, up to a maximum of ₩5,000. Not bad at all for a Han River view restaurant.

That said, the lot can get crowded on nice weekday lunches or weekends when Han River Park visitors pile in too ㅠㅠ I'd recommend arriving a bit earlier than your reservation time. ✔️Especially crowded on weekend lunches!

The Han River view from inside Romaok Riverside

Romaok Riverside's biggest strength is definitely the Han River view. The hanok-inspired exterior mixed with the modern interior gives it a different feel from your typical large Namyangju restaurant.

Especially on a nice day, seeing the Han River through the windows makes it feel less like just going out to eat and more like a proper outing. It seemed like a great spot for couples looking for a Namyangju date spot or for family meals with parents too. If you want a Han River view seat, I'd recommend booking ahead haha.

A menu by a chef from a two-Michelin-star restaurant

Romaok's Italian menu seems to be led by a chef who trained at a two-Michelin-star restaurant in Italy! It's not just the usual familiar pasta and risotto dishes — there are a lot of menus combining Italian technique with various ingredients, so it was fun just reading the menu.

I picked just two things that day: mushroom truffle cream pasta at ₩25,000, and the Korean beef ragu fresh pasta lasagna roll at ₩27,000.

Bread and oil before the mains at Romaok Riverside

After ordering, the bread and dipping oil came out first. And this bread was surprisingly good? The outside had just the right bit of texture while the inside was moist and soft, so it was delicious even on its own.

And I dipped it into the oil that came with it... and honestly, why was the oil so good too lol. The bread itself was already tasty, but with the oil, the nutty flavor came through even more and I kept reaching for another piece. Usually bread service is just one or two pieces before the main comes, but here I was already satisfied before the main even arrived lol. I held back so I wouldn't fill up before the pasta.

My top pick: mushroom truffle cream pasta, 25,000 won

Mushroom truffle cream pasta, ₩25,000.

This has black truffle, mushroom cream sauce, and Grana Padano cheese, and instead of regular spaghetti it uses mezze paccheri, a short and plump pasta shape. If I could only eat one of the two dishes again, it would be this one without a doubt.

The cream itself is quite rich. But it's not so heavy on truffle aroma that it overpowers everything else — the subtle truffle scent that comes through with each bite was really good.

With the savory mushroom flavor layered on top of the rich cream sauce, this suited my taste for thick, rich cream pasta way better. The cream sauce clinging between the folds of the mezze paccheri was also great to eat. Personally, my #1 dish of the day!!

Korean beef ragu lasagna roll, 27,000 won: not what I expected

Second up: the Korean beef ragu fresh pasta lasagna roll, ₩27,000.

This dish has Korean beef ragu, tomato sauce, ricotta mousse, balsamic reduction, béchamel, Grana Padano, and basil oil. Just looking at it, with all that red sauce on top, I expected a heavier ragu flavor. But actually eating it, it tasted a bit different from what I was picturing for a ragu sauce.

And the red color doesn't mean it's spicy at all lol — it just looks red because of the tomato sauce, so don't worry about heat. The fresh pasta lasagna roll with ricotta mousse and ragu went down smoothly, and the overall combination was decent.

I did enjoy this one too, but... the truffle cream pasta still wins for me lol. If you love rich cream pasta, we probably have similar taste.

You need to order another menu item too, and the reservation coupon can only be used when booking through Naver Reservations!! There were age conditions, like 12-72 months. There's also an event offering a free Americano for writing a receipt review, so keep that in mind too. If you just pay without knowing about these, it feels like such a waste lol.

A good lunch stop on a Namyangju Han River drive

Romaok Riverside is near Mieum-naru and Suseok-dong, so it's easy to build a course of Namyangju drive → Han River walk → meal. It's also not too hard to reach by car from Jamsil or the Misa/Gangdong area, so it's a good option for days when you don't want to go too far from Seoul but still want that out-of-town feeling.

Especially if you take a walk along the Han River right after your meal, it naturally becomes a date course. So if you're looking for Mieum-naru or Suseok-dong restaurants where atmosphere matters too, this place should suit you well!!

Is Romaok Riverside the right pick for a Namyangju dinner out?

That day I had two dishes: the mushroom truffle cream pasta at ₩25,000 and the Korean beef ragu fresh pasta lasagna roll at ₩27,000. Both were good, but my preference clearly goes to the mushroom truffle cream pasta. The thick, rich cream with that subtle rising truffle scent was so good.

The lasagna roll had more of the natural tomato flavor coming through rather than the heavy ragu sauce I expected, so it'd suit people who like tomato-based dishes that aren't too heavy.

And beyond the food, having the hanok-style space plus the Han River view together definitely made it feel like more of a special outing than an ordinary meal. So among people looking for good Namyangju restaurants, this place should especially suit those who want to eat while looking at the Han River, those searching for Mieum-naru or Suseok-dong restaurants, and those planning a Namyangju date or drive course. Might be worth going before it gets much colder, to eat pasta with that Han River view :)
