Seasonal fruit cheesecake at a Namyangju café: Waltz and Dr. Mahn

Why Waltz and Dr. Mahn is the best café we've found in Namyangju
Waltz and Dr. Mahn is a large café on Bukhangang-ro in Joan-myeon, Namyangju, Gyeonggi. I've been to a lot of great-vibe cafés in Namyangju, but this one was the best of the best — it genuinely felt like stepping into a European resort. My husband and I went on a spontaneous drive at exactly the right moment and had such a lovely time.

Where is Waltz and Dr. Mahn? Bukhan River location, buses and parking
Waltz and Dr. Mahn sits right on the Bukhan River in Namyangju. Coming by car is obviously easiest, but it's also reachable by public transit within 1–2 hours from Seoul! (30 minutes by bus from Maseok Station)

A dedicated café parking lot. It was so spacious you don't need to worry about parking at all.

You can see the mountains near the Bukhan River up close, and the weather was so good the view was at its absolute best. The outdoor landscaping looked really well cared for too, and the staff were dressed sharply — it felt like a whole different world.
Terrace, annex or indoor window seat: where to sit at Waltz and Dr. Mahn
Seating at Waltz and Dr. Mahn is divided into parasol outdoor seats, shaded outdoor tables under a tent, an annex-like separate indoor space, indoor window seats, and sofa seating. We sat at an indoor window seat.
Outdoor seating. Around one in the afternoon, a staff member opened up all the parasols. With the nice, cool weather, the outdoor seats looked really appealing too.

This is a separate indoor space like an annex — private, with a great view! Doesn't it feel like a banquet hall?
Wow. We sat at an indoor window seat, and it seems everyone's taste is the same — this was clearly the most popular spot. All the big windows were open, letting in a lovely gentle breeze — such a healing feeling.
I already knew the Bukhan River was beautiful, but that day the shimmering water, the sunny weather, and the café's atmosphere combined into something amazing...!!
The interior is antique and even a bit lovely. Maybe because of the exotic interior, even the view outside felt like being abroad.
I honestly wondered if this was somewhere along the European or Mediterranean coast — the exotic scenery was breathtaking... I kept telling my other half, 'This really is like Europe, like Europe,' on repeat haha.
When is the Dr. Mahn Friday Concert?
At Waltz and Dr. Mahn, Dr. Mahn's Friday Concert is held at 8pm on the last Friday of every month (recommended to arrive comfortably around 6:30–7pm). During the day, jazz-style music was playing, which gave a little taste of what a jazz bar might feel like. And sure enough.
I can only imagine how romantic it must be at night — I want to go back and find out. If you're wondering where to go on a special day, I really recommend this as a date spot. Your partner might fall for your excellent taste in places haha.
Behind where we sat, there were sofa seats — recommended for anyone who prefers a more relaxed seating style.
What we ordered: Honduras coffee, iced decaf and seasonal fruit cheesecake
At Waltz and Dr. Mahn, we ordered Honduras coffee for ₩14,000, decaf for ₩16,000, and seasonal fruit cheesecake for ₩9,000. We got two coffees and one dessert.
Aren't the dishes lovely, every single one? We only had coffee, but they also serve meals, and quite a few nearby guests were dining.
On the left, the iced decaf. It had a rich dark chocolate aroma and tasted great. On the right, the Honduras Hot I picked after much deliberation. You can choose light or strong — I went light, and it had a slight acidity at first. Paired with the dessert, it was a perfect match!!! It gets tastier the more you drink.
The seasonal fruit cheesecake. A round cheesecake topped with orange, cherry, kiwi, shine muscat grapes, blueberries, and grapefruit — every piece of fruit was so refreshing and full of sweetness haha. Most fruits came in pairs, so my other half and I shared it happily. Highly recommend if you like cheesecake and fruit! The cream cheese base with a lightly baked surface was delicious haha.
The atmosphere alone was enough to put me in a great mood at this Namyangju café, Waltz and Dr. Mahn. The scenery, the mood, the staff's kindness, and the taste — every single part of it was good.
