Anguk pizza restaurant with weekday waiting and truffle pasta: Low

My sleep schedule has been all over the place lately. I can't sleep at night but I'm drowsy all day long.

September is apparently Korea's national art festival month, and I heard the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art was free to visit last week, so I went to Anguk with a friend! The first thing we did after arriving in Anguk was, of course, eat lunch — and this time I found an absolute gem near Anguk Station. It's the pizza brunch café 'Low Five'.

Low Five Anguk is easy to get to since it's only 188m from Exit 2 of Anguk Station (Line 3). There's no parking at the restaurant itself, so you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot, unfortunately.

9 teams waiting even on a weekday afternoon — Catch Table online waiting

I put my name down for online waiting through Catch Table before heading over! Even though it was a weekday afternoon, there were about 9 teams waiting when I checked my phone. So we put our name in and chatted while we waited a bit.

What's the vibe like? Wood interior and a spacious layout

The exterior was already so pretty, but the moment I stepped inside, the warm, wood-toned, tasteful interior caught my eye right away. The space was pretty spacious, and since it was daytime, the sunlight poured in beautifully. My seat was comfortable too. It'd make a great date spot, and it's also a great place to chat with friends over good food.

The menu and what we ordered

They have a diverse menu — pasta, pizza, fried rice, and more — at pretty reasonable prices, so ordering several dishes for two people wouldn't feel like too much of a splurge! There were so many things I wanted to eat, but since we were planning to go to a café afterward too, we stopped at two menu items. Haha. But it was so good that next time I want to order all sorts of other things too.

After much deliberation, the two of us ordered the half-and-half pizza (27,000 won), truffle cream pasta (19,000 won), and lemonade (6,000 won).

We were chatting away happily and before we knew it, the food arrived hahaha. They brought everything out almost at the same time, so I was glad I could get photos in. The moment we got it, the delicious smell wafted up... it smelled so good that photos were the last thing on my mind, but since it all came out at once I could snap quick pics and dig in right away lolol.

Half-and-half pizza: corn and Tex-Mex taco

At Low Five Anguk you can order the pizza half-and-half, choosing 2 out of corn / Tex-Mex taco / hot chili potato / hot pepperoni. I picked the two that looked most delicious — corn pizza and Tex-Mex taco pizza! The half-and-half is normally 26,000 won, but choosing the Tex-Mex taco pizza adds 1,000 won.

It came out as 3 slices of corn pizza and 3 slices of taco pizza. Starting with the corn pizza first: the sweet and salty sauce, the savory cheese, and the popping texture of the corn were so delicious, ugh. I think corn pizza really is my favorite pizza.

Next up, the taco pizza — they told us to squeeze lime on it, but I was too lazy so I skipped that lolol. But wow, it truly tasted like a taco!!! I kept thinking, can pizza really taste this much like a taco? It was so, so good. Both were so delicious that I got curious about their other pizzas too. I'm usually not a big fan of dough, but the dough at Low Five Anguk is chewy and savory and delicious, so I happily finished it to the very last bite.

Wouldn't the truffle cream pasta be too heavy?

Next, the truffle cream pasta! I usually prefer tomato or rosé pasta, but I had a feeling cream pasta would pair well with the pizza I ordered, so I went with truffle cream pasta — and it was such a good call! The truffle aroma really came through, and the sauce was thick, savory, and creamy with great depth of flavor. I don't handle heavy, rich food well, but this wasn't heavy at all. I wanted to lick the sauce clean off the plate. Ugh, I want it again already.

Lemonade, and would I go back?

Lastly, the lemonade. I really do think lemonade is the drink that pairs best with Western food! Even after eating rich Western dishes, it doesn't feel heavy and leaves your stomach feeling clean. The quality rivaled lemonade you'd get at a dedicated café.

Every single dish was so delicious that my revisit intent is 1,000,000%! Next time I want to try the fried rice and just about everything else on the menu. Thanks for the meal! ♡
