Pho restaurant in Gangseo, Busan with deep clear broth: Mibundang

I visited Mibundang Myeongji Branch (미분당 명지점), a Myeongji favorite known for Vietnamese pho. I had its signature beef brisket pho, brisket pho, and Saigon Beer, and everything was sooo delicious—I was completely satisfied~!

Mibundang Myeongji Branch hours and parking

It opens daily at 11 a.m. and closes at 9 p.m., with last orders at 8:30 p.m. Break time is from 3 to 5 p.m., and the shopping-complex parking lot is supported for one hour. Just be careful: it is not the underground parking lot at Gangseo Tax Office!

Pho menu and what I ordered

Here is the Mibundang menu. As a Vietnamese pho specialist, it only serves pho, with plenty of varieties. They differ by topping: beef brisket pho is ₩10,000, brisket pho is ₩11,500, beef brisket and brisket pho is ₩12,500, beef brisket, brisket and tendon pho is ₩13,000, and tendon pho is ₩14,000.

I ordered the ₩10,000 beef brisket pho, ₩11,500 brisket pho, ₩5,500 Saigon Beer, and a ₩2,500 Coke!

• Sweet potato cha gio (fried spring rolls), 3 pieces / scallop cha gio, 3 pieces: ₩3,000 each
• Potato-wrapped shrimp, 3 pieces / buffalo wings, 3 pieces: ₩3,500 each
• Wedding siu mai, 4 pieces: ₩3,000
• Assorted appetizers, 5 kinds: ₩8,500

Quiet bar seats for focusing on pho

I visited before last order, so there were three other guests; I took photos toward the empty side. Mibundang locations always seem so clean and hygienically maintained. Mibundang always has bar seats only! I think it is because it aims to let you quietly savor and focus on your pho at the bar rather than at tables. There are hangers on the wall for coats too, which is great in winter.

This is the message always written in front of the seats at each Mibundang branch. Apparently, Mibundang was created to provide a space where people can eat in a quiet, comfortable atmosphere. The unspoken rule is to speak softly enough that the person beside you cannot hear you while you eat, haha.

They serve hot sauce, chili sauce, and hoisin sauce. After ordering, each person gets an individual small plate and water cup, plus plates of pickled onions, danmuji (yellow pickled radish), and jalapeños, so it feels hygienic to eat.

Saigon Beer and ways to enjoy pho

Saigon Beer was ₩5,500. I wondered whether to get Hanoi Beer or Saigon Beer, then picked Saigon Beer for absolutely no reason, haha. I do not really know—just anything... Saigon Beer it was!

There were also instructions on how to enjoy the pho. Take some noodles, bean sprouts, and meat into a small bowl, add onion and hot sauce, then mix! Add about one round of Mibundang hot sauce to the noodles in the broth for a spicy kick! Take noodles, bean sprouts, and meat, add cilantro, and mix them with hoisin sauce! Mixing in scallions and hot sauce gives you another flavor too!

Curious about where Mibundang's ingredients come from? The pho noodles are fresh noodles made in Korea; the beef brisket and brisket are Australian, and the tendon is from the United States!!

Tender beef brisket and clear brisket broth

This is the beef brisket pho. Does not the beef brisket look incredibly tender? It was not tough at all and went down so smoothly with the pho noodles.

This is the brisket pho! There was such a generous amount of brisket in it. Mibundang pho has a really clean broth. It has depth, but none of that funky meat-broth smell or fishiness—just a truly clean flavor.

I have visited Mibundang's Suji branch and eaten it in Sinchon and Changwon too, and each branch is a little different, but the broth at Mibundang Myeongji Branch was honestly among the best! You can see it in the photo, right? Look at that clear color of the broth~ It was so clean yet deeply flavored, one of the most delicious Mibundang pho broths I have had, haha.

These are the individual servings of pickled onions, danmuji, and jalapeños. If you need more, just ask and they will refill them!

I took some noodles, bean sprouts, and meat, added hoisin sauce, and mixed it all together. It may not sound like much, but it is delicious, haha. Slurping the noodles in the broth is delicious too, but taking some out and mixing them like this is also so good, so definitely give it a try!!

They even had blankets ready in case the restaurant felt cold! Such thoughtful little care and sense..!

Kiosk ordering and visit tips

This photo was taken after closing. Since last order is at 8:30 p.m., make sure you arrive before then if you want to eat. Normally, you can order at the kiosk outside before going in. Mibundang Myeongji Branch is clean and hygienically managed, so if you are looking for a good restaurant in Myeongji or great pho in Myeongji, definitely try the pho, haha.
