Gimhae café with 69-layer milk bread and iced matcha: Peer a Peer

Today I want to introduce Peer a Peer for anyone looking for a large, atmospheric café in Gimhae. This isn't just a café where you grab coffee and bread and leave — it's a stay-and-linger cultural space where you can also enjoy exhibitions, performances, books, and photo zones, which made it feel extra special. I was especially curious going in because I'd heard it was built by reviving a 40-year-old factory, and once I got there it was even bigger and had more to see than I expected.

What kind of space is Peer a Peer?

Peer a Peer is said to have been built as a 2,000-pyeong stay-and-linger cultural space. They kept the old factory intact while reimagining it as a new kind of space.

The feel of the old space and the modern interior blend together nicely, so it was fun to wander around and look at every corner of the café.

It seemed like a good place to read quietly alone, to catch up with friends, or to spend a relaxed time with family.

Parking and location: 15 minutes from Gimhae Outlets

Peer a Peer has a large parking lot right in front, so parking was easy. It's about a 15-minute drive from Gimhae Outlets, so it could work well before or after shopping. If you're looking for a Jangyu café or any large café, it's worth a drive out here too.

Autumn pampas grass and photo spots outside Peer a Peer

When I visited it was autumn, so the pampas grass outside looked lovely. In cool weather like this, it was nice to sit outside with a cup of coffee and just relax. If you like taking photos, make sure to check out the outdoor space as well as the interior.

What we ordered: 69-layer milk bread and iced matcha latte

Peer a Peer is also a bakery café. Walking in, there were all kinds of bread on display, and it was fun to look at each one.

We ordered a hot americano, an iced matcha latte, an iced vanilla latte, and the 69-layer bread.

I love matcha latte so I tried it here, and it wasn't very sweet — the bitterness that's characteristic of matcha really came through and it was delicious. The iced vanilla latte, on the other hand, was sweet in a way that adults tend to like. The 69-layer bread wasn't sweet, so it paired well with the americano.

They also put a lot of care into their beans, apparently. They use premium beans supplied by a well-known Busan roastery, so coffee lovers might want to pay attention to that too. Dogs are allowed on the outdoor seating, so keep that in mind if you're visiting with your pup.

We also took part in a Naver review event and got a mini muffin.

A Gimhae café with exhibitions and live performances

Peer a Peer collaborates with local artists to keep running art exhibitions and cultural performances, so you might see something new every time you visit. It's also used as a venue for various creative projects — fashion shows, music videos, brand photo shoots — which made me feel like it's more than just a café.

Seating and visiting tips for Peer a Peer

Since the space is so large, I'd recommend setting aside plenty of time rather than just stopping in for a quick coffee. The interior is spacious with lots of different seating areas, each with a slightly different mood, so it's worth picking the spot that suits you.

The parking lot was spacious and convenient, and with the pampas grass in bloom right now, it was great for photos too. If you're looking for something a bit different among Gimhae cafés, I'd recommend giving this place a visit. Next time I'd like to try some other breads and take my time looking around a bit more.
