Peer a Peer in Jillye, Gimhae: hours, parking and dog policy

Peer a Peer is a large bakery café in Jillye-myeon, Gimhae, Gyeongnam. Hours are Mon–Fri 11:00–20:00, Sat–Sun 11:00–21:00, with last order at 19:30 on weekdays and 20:30 on weekends. There's no listed closed day.

I was looking around for cafés on the Jillye side of Gimhae and got curious about Peer a Peer because the space looked so pretty, haha. Parking fits up to 100 cars so no worries there. Also, dogs are allowed, but only in the outdoor seating!

Busy but never cramped: inside the huge Peer a Peer hall

You're greeted by this massive door as soon as you arrive! I was a little surprised at how many people were already there when I stepped inside, lol, but the space itself is so spacious that even with all those people, it never felt cramped or hectic.

The left side has this vibe, and the right side has a totally different one, haha. Each area has its own atmosphere, so it's fun just wandering around and checking out the different seats.

What time has the widest bakery selection at Peer a Peer?

We visited around 3pm and a lot of the popular breads were already sold out, ugh. If you want to see the full bakery lineup, I'd suggest going a bit earlier!

Nutella choco latte and iced Americano at Peer a Peer

Here's what we ordered:

• ✔ Lemon meringue croissant
• ✔ Peach yogurt cake
• ✔ Nutella choco latte
• ✔ Iced Americano

And that's it! Visually, a solid pass 👏🏻 The Nutella choco latte was delicious!! It had those marshmallow-cookie-looking bits mixed in — you know, the ones that come in that cereal Oreo thing... lol, I don't know the name, but that one! Sweet and crunchy, so good, haha. If you like sweet drinks, I'd definitely recommend the Nutella choco latte! The iced Americano was also nutty with no sourness, exactly how I like my coffee, so that was good too.

Honest take on the lemon meringue croissant and peach yogurt cake

Now let me be a bit honest about the desserts...! First, the lemon meringue croissant had a generous amount of lemon cream inside, but for my taste the lemon flavor was stronger than expected, ugh. If you like a tart, zesty flavor you might love it, but for me it didn't blend naturally with the bread — the lemon cream flavor felt like it stood out on its own a bit too much. Really sour.

And the peach yogurt cake! The visuals were genuinely gorgeous, but personally the cake sponge wasn't the moist style. I was expecting something soft and melt-in-your-mouth, but it was closer to a plain, dry-ish castella texture. And with fruit cakes, the sweetness will always depend on how ripe the fruit is that day — but the peach I got was more tart than sweet, ugh, sigh... If I'd eaten it when peaches were at their sweetest and best, I think it would've been even better! Just keep in mind this is entirely my own taste 🙏🏻

Which Sunday hours are quietest at Peer a Peer?

We visited on a Sunday and it was pretty packed when we first walked in, but by around 4pm, seats gradually started opening up. If you want to enjoy a quieter vibe even on a Sunday, visiting later in the afternoon might be a good idea!

Rooftop, hidden seats and the surprisingly upscale restroom

I heard there was a rooftop so I thought about checking it out, but it wasn't open yet. Still, the walk up there was pretty, so I was satisfied!

After you finish eating, you just return your tray here! If you head down the hallway toward the restroom, there's a slightly hidden seat tucked in the corner, haha. If you like quiet seats, this spot might be great for you! And if you keep following the path, you'll come across a restroom that's surprisingly fancy ✨

Borrow a book: the reading corner and photo booth

After the restroom, the layout lets you loop all the way around the café! Coming back in through the opposite door leads to a whole different space, and here there are lots of books you can freely borrow and read 📚 There's a good selection for kids too, so it seems like a great spot for family visits. There are also plenty of cute photo spots scattered around, haha. There's even a space set up like an actual photo booth, complete with lighting and a black backdrop, lol. If you love photos, definitely snap one here 📸✨

Is Peer a Peer in Gimhae worth the trip? Final verdict

To sum it up:

• ✔ Spacious and comfortable, great for lingering long
• ✔ Good for reading or working on a laptop (though outlets are limited)
• ✔ Never feels crowded even when busy, thanks to the size
• ✔ The Nutella choco latte and iced Americano were tasty!!
• ✔ The desserts were a bit disappointing for my taste, ugh

Next time I want to come back alone with a book or laptop and just quietly stay a while :) If you're looking for a spacious, Little Forest-style café in Jillye, Gimhae, this could be worth a visit 🌿
