I want to introduce a spot that's famous as a bingsu (shaved ice dessert) hotspot in Paju. It's a recommended café near Simhaksan, not open very long but already visited by tons of people. It's especially known for fresh-fruit bingsu, and I went to check it out — the bingsu itself was so delicious that I have to recommend this place. Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store is a large café on Dolgoji-gil in Paju, near Simhaksan. The café itself is quite big and impressive, sitting right on the roadside so it was easy to find. Since there are so many great restaurants nearby, it's the perfect place to stop for dessert after a meal. There's also plenty of parking space right in front of the café.

Three floors and opening hours at Fruit Forest

Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store is open from 10am to 9pm, and it's really nicely and uniquely decorated. The lighting inside is great, and the interior was clearly well-maintained — a spacious, grand space that made it comfortable to relax and enjoy bingsu. We stopped by after eating at a nearby restaurant, and lots of people seemed to be visiting for dates or dessert.

Fruit Forest Paju Direct Store had a wide variety of fresh fruits ready to go — since they clearly sell fresh-fruit bingsu and fresh-fruit juices, plenty of fresh, delicious-looking fruit was on display. Being able to enjoy all kinds of fruit-based menus year-round made me think this is a genuinely great, recommendable place, haha.

On the Fruit Forest menu board it says "Fruit Forest, the holy land of fresh mango bingsu," and there's a huge lineup of fruit-based menu items. True to its reputation as a Paju bingsu spot, there were many kinds of bingsu on offer.

How big is the melon snow bingsu, and what does it cost?

At Fruit Forest, the Paju bingsu spot, we ordered the melon snow bingsu. I'd expected bingsu here to be somewhat pricey, but once it came out, I honestly thought the price was quite reasonable. It arrived piled high in a huge bowl — the sheer amount of it, like an entire big melon packed in, was incredible, haha.

What the ice cream and fresh melon taste like

The bingsu was cool, melt-in-your-mouth snow ice piled with ice cream and lots of fresh melon. The melon itself was very ripe and well-matured, so sweet and refreshing to eat alongside the bingsu. It was ripe and delicious enough that the melon alone made the whole bowl feel worth it.

Who is this Paju café best for?

It was as delicious as it looked, a cool and sweet snow bingsu with real charm. Eating such a tasty, generous bowl of bingsu felt healing in itself, and I thought it would make a great date spot too. I ate so much and enjoyed it so much that I already want to go back — it's a recommendable café that's great for families or couples to visit together.
