A 40-year-old Gimhae factory turned into a large café

Today I'm writing about my visit to Peer a Peer, a bakery café in Jillye-myeon and a large Gimhae café. I ended up stopping by suddenly while out driving with my mom and dad nearby — it's a converted 40-year-old old factory that now feels like a complex cultural space, with a unique yet modern atmosphere. It's close to both Lotte Outlet and the Clayarch Museum, so it's the perfect stop after a bit of shopping or sightseeing. The moment I walked in, this massive, imposing building just took over my field of view.

This is the counter — since each space is so wide, it felt really relaxed and full of good vibes ~~~~~~~ Actually, since it's a café converted from a factory, part of the interior was left just as it was, and even that had a nice atmosphere to it. Haha.

Apparently if you write a Naver receipt review, you get one of Peer a Peer's mini muffins. Thought it'd be nice with coffee so I took a photo of it! I forgot to actually do it and never got around to it... but you all should try it!

How much bread and cake does Peer a Peer bake?

First off, there are so many kinds of desserts, and every single one looked delicious, you know? I visited with my parents, so I picked something to suit their taste — the red bean manju — and their reaction was great ~~~ 👏 Aside from that, there were so many kinds of bread that choosing was seriously stressful... this looked good, and that looked good too,,,,

There's also cake, and so many kinds too. I've been really into eating good desserts lately, so I completely lost track of time debating what to get!

Factory walls and artwork: the atmosphere inside Peer a Peer

The exterior is striking — a rough, off-white concrete building — but once you open the door and step in, a whole different charm unfolds. The vintage walls and pillars, carrying all the years of the old factory, are kept exactly as they were, giving off a really hip vibe. There were tons of art pieces scattered throughout, and they made the whole place feel even more grand. This is the textbook definition of a café with good vibes . . .

How do the new milk coffee (dolce latte) and red bean manju taste?

The visuals were like, what is even going on ~~~~~~~~~ The coffee beans were so good that everyone said the coffee was genuinely delicious. I had the dolce latte too, and it was a bit sweeter than I expected, but it gave me such a sugar rush and I loved it. If the beans are good to begin with, nothing can taste bad, and dolce is naturally sweet anyway ^^ Since I basically only drink lattes, I consider myself something of a connoisseur, and I'm officially certifying this place as good. The manju also had a bit of chewy mochi (made with glutinous rice?) inside, which was a total bullseye for my mom and dad's taste. !!!!!!!

A quiet corner for reading, and the restrooms at Peer a Peer

Under a low ceiling, there's a space with standing lamps and books. It's a cozy spot for reading or getting some inspiration. Honestly I'm not much of a reader, but for anyone who loves books, this would be such a healing space. I'm the type who never reads books.... I should probably start.

The restroom was also spotlessly clean!

Unlike your typical large café, this felt like a special space infused with the owner's unmistakable taste and artistic inspiration. If you're ever driving around the Clayarch Museum in Jillye or nearby, I definitely recommend stopping by!
