Salmon tartare roll and aged kimchi sushi at Sushi Ian N, Seolleung
In short
Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant on the 2nd floor near Seolleung Station in Gangnam, Seoul, charging ₩1,990 per plate. Visiting for an evening reservation with her boyfriend, the writer kept refilling on salmon tartare rolls and aged kimchi raw fish sushi, picking only what she wanted with nothing left uneaten. A budget-friendly course that felt like affordable omakase.

Sushi is one of my all-time favorite foods. It's usually too pricey for me to eat often, but I found a conveyor-belt sushi place with the same prices I used to pay back in college — except it tastes even better. Such great value!
₩1,990 per plate
Let me introduce a budget-friendly gem that's rare to find these days.

Location and hours of Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station
🚩 Address: 2nd floor, 10 Seolleung-ro 86-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, South Korea, Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station ⏰ Hours: 11:20–22:00 (break time 15:00–17:00)
It's about a 5-minute walk from Seolleung Station. There's a bit of an uphill slope, but it wasn't hard to find.

I came by subway, and being close to the station made it really convenient. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and the ₩1,990 sign is so eye-catching you can spot it from outside. Such incredible value these days, right?

Book ahead for dinner, or try a quieter lunch date
I'm calling this a great spot for a Seolleung Station lunch date because dinner can get crowded. That's why I made a reservation and came in the evening — but if you'd rather avoid the crowds, I'd recommend coming for a lunch date near Seolleung Station instead.
So many kinds of conveyor-belt sushi

An overwhelming number of menu items on the belt
I recently went to another conveyor-belt sushi place with similar prices, but I was disappointed by how few varieties they had. Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station, on the other hand, has an overwhelming number of menu items.

This menu photo is from Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station's own page, but when I actually visited, there seemed to be even more variety than this. The sushi I'd recommend is
- Aged kimchi raw fish sushi
- Salmon onion sushi
- Flounder sushi
- Egg sushi
- Salmon tartare roll
.

All the other sushi was delicious too, but since I'm normally a huge fan of salmon and flounder, I really enjoyed those at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station as well.

Conveyor-belt sushi has a reputation for being low quality, but visiting Sushi Ian N completely changed my mind. The sushi here was genuinely special.
Sushi with great quality

Anything not on the belt gets made fresh on the spot
What struck me about the sushi at Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station was how good the quality really was. No dried-out rice, no unfresh fish — it was truly sushi at its best.

The sushi looked so beautiful too — you could tell they put real care into arranging each piece. If you order something not on the belt, they make it fresh right away, and the staff were so kind and quick that I could get exactly what I wanted immediately. It's not omakase, but it kind of felt like it?! More like budget-friendly omakase, and I was so satisfied.

I'm especially crazy about salmon, so I'm super picky when it comes to it. The salmon sushi at Sushi Ian N completely passed my taste test. It was moist and soft, melting in my mouth. I grew up going to conveyor-belt sushi places purely for the value, so I wasn't expecting much — but this totally exceeded my expectations.
So many different kinds of sushi

Plates I picked: egg sushi and sweet shrimp
The egg-based sushi had such a fluffy, wonderful texture, and the combination of sweet shrimp with the sauce was excellent too. I think the charm of conveyor-belt sushi is being able to try so many different dishes like this — it's the kind of place that gets even a picky eater like me to order plate after plate.

There wasn't a single plate that felt lower quality — I enjoyed everything. My boyfriend was really satisfied too. Whenever we go to sushi places together, we usually end up leaving behind the pieces neither of us likes, but at Sushi Ian N you can just pick what you want, so there was nothing left over. I loved that.
Overflowing with value

Don't skip the salmon tartare roll
Menu items that cost extra elsewhere are just ₩1,990 here, which really adds to the value.

I especially loved that you can enjoy yukhoe (raw beef tartare) here too, not just sushi. I'm a huge fan of the salmon-plus-yukhoe combo, and having a salmon tartare roll on the menu made me fall for Sushi Ian N all over again. This dish is genuinely delicious, so I really recommend trying it!

Delicious dishes just kept coming no matter how much we ate, turning even a light eater like me into someone who overeats. The aged kimchi raw fish sushi in particular was so good I lost count of how many times I ordered more.

When I ordered all my favorites at once, this is what they gave me. Doesn't it all look even more delicious grouped together? If you're looking for a budget-friendly lunch date course near Seolleung Station, I really recommend Sushi Ian N. Of all the conveyor-belt sushi places I've been to recently, this was hands down number one — I think it's going to become my regular spot 🎀
