16 plates of laver shrimp sushi at Sushi Ian N, Seolleung Station
In short
Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, charging a flat ₩1,990 per plate. Visiting on a weekday around 12:30 with no wait, the writer ate 16 plates (₩31,840) including laver-wrapped sweet shrimp with monkfish liver, wagyu basil tataki, and salmon tartare sushi. With no weekend break time and both bar and table seating, it works equally well for a lunch date or solo dining.

Prices these days are seriously out of control.. a lunch these days easily blows past ₩10,000ㅠㅠ so for an office worker like me, "what should I eat today" has become the biggest question in life haha
- Want to eat filling food without breaking the lunch budget
- But it's a date, so don't want it to feel cheap
- A place that matches tastes with a boyfriend who loves sashimi
- No long waits allowed
You're probably wondering how I could find somewhere that checks all those boxes… but I found it haha. Here's my honest review ✨ Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station — would definitely go back ⭕️
How to get to Sushi Ian N Seolleung Station & hours

Hours are Mon–Fri 11:20–22:00 (break time 15:00–17:00), and Sat–Sun 11:20–22:00 with no break.
It's hard to find a conveyor-belt sushi place open with no weekend break time, so you can drop in whenever, which is a huge win if you're hunting for a lunch spot. I went around 12:30 on a weekday and there was basically no wait.
Menu & prices

Atmosphere & interior — good for solo dining?

As soon as you walk in, the conveyor belt is stretched out with lidded sushi plates circling round — just looking at it already made me feel full haha (my eyes already ate).
Inside was bigger and cleaner than I expected. There are both bar seats and table seats, so solo diners can sit without feeling awkward. Sitting at the bar seats let me watch the chefs at work, which was fun to watch haha.
The chefs were properly kitted out with masks and hygiene caps, so hygiene felt solid. All the conveyor belt plates were covered too, so zero worries about dust 👍
Today's order — 16 plates, ₩31,840
Conveyor-belt sushi at ₩1,990 (x16 plates = ₩31,840). A flat ₩1,990 per plate is a ridiculous price, honestly. No matter the plate color, it's all ₩1,990, so you don't even need to think when it's time to pay.
🔥 What we ate 🔥

Laver sweet shrimp sushi with monkfish liver ⭐ true pick
There's one thing I really, really want to stress… you absolutely must try the laver (gim/gamtae) sweet shrimp sushi❗ The laver aroma hits your nose right away, and biting into the sweet shrimp releases a burst of sweetness. Topped with monkfish liver and sea urchin, the flavor was seriously.. I'd give it 120 out of 100 haha. Gone in seconds.

Eel sushi, wagyu basil tataki
The eel sushi was nicely sweet, and the wagyu basil tataki had a perfect sear and thickness.

This place seems to be a shrimp specialist haha. The raw fish sushi with aged kimchi was also great.

Flounder & salmon, salmon tartare sushi
The sashimi overall was fresh across the board. The flounder and salmon were especially thick and satisfying, and my boyfriend ate 4 plates of just the salmon tartare sushi alone haha.

Red seabream belly, engawa
2 pieces of red seabream belly, 1 piece of engawa (flounder fin). That engawa was so, so good...
Overall — good for a Seolleung lunch date or work dinner?

Honestly, with a flat price like this I expected it to just be "eh, average," but the fish was fresher than I expected. Given the price, this feels like cheating haha.
Great for a Seolleung lunch date, and also good for going alone and quietly picking off a few plates at the bar seats. If your office is nearby, I'd also highly recommend it as a work dinner spot near Seolleung (around ₩20,000 a head and you'll be stuffed). The biggest perk is that with no break time, you can go at any odd hour. Next time I'm planning to go back in the evening with a highball haha.
📌 Why I recommend it 📌
- 💰 Flat ₩1,990 per plate, insane value
- 🍣 Fish freshness is solid (especially flounder and salmon)
- 👨🍳 Chefs make everything right in front of you
- 🪑 Bar seats make solo dining comfortable
- 🧼 You can tell they care about hygiene
If you're looking for a great-value spot, figuring out a date course, or an office worker hunting for a work dinner place, Sushi Ian N Seolleung is worth saving 🍣 In an era where prices are so crazy you can barely afford a date, this price is genuinely a steal.. everyone should try it at least once haha.
