Bueokgan, an ocean-view Chinese restaurant in Marine City — a proper meal enjoyed while looking out at the sea

If you're wondering where to go for a Chinese restaurant with good vibes in Busan, this time I want to recommend a Marine City spot — I went to Bueokgan, where you can really enjoy the ocean view too.

Marine City has plenty of great restaurants and ocean-view spots, but finding one that nails both the food and the atmosphere isn't as easy as you'd think. Bueokgan does both — the food is delicious and the vibe of the place is great, so it seemed like it'd work well for a family meal, hosting guests, or a group gathering.

What I really loved was the Marine City sea view spreading out beyond the window. Eating good food while looking out at the ocean made the meal feel a lot more relaxed and special.
A Chinese restaurant with a gorgeous Marine City sea view

Walking into Bueokgan, the first thing that caught my eye was the great atmosphere. It felt clean and upscale, quite different from your typical Chinese restaurant, and there were seats facing the ocean, which was a big plus for enjoying the view while eating.

A room space suited to group gatherings
There's also a nicely set up room space, which made me think this is a Chinese restaurant that suits group gatherings and family meals well. It'd also be good if you want a quiet meal or need to host an important guest. This is a place I'd think of again both for family meals and when looking for somewhere to entertain guests.

What we ordered that day
What we ordered that day was
- Ganjajang
- Beef jjamppong
- Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)
- Oyeopgyeol mapo tofu (mapo tofu with pork belly)
— that's what we went with.

On top of that, we got dumplings as a review event service, so the meal ended up even more generous. As each dish came out, they were pretty appetizing just to look at. Jajangmyeon and jjamppong are familiar dishes at any Chinese restaurant, but the plating and overall presentation here were clean, so they were also great for photos.

Ganjajang
Ganjajang really is best eaten right away. Mixing the noodles and sauce well and taking a bite, I could really taste that savory, rich jajang flavor. Ganjajang can sometimes end up too greasy or salty, but this version was easy to eat without feeling heavy. If you're looking for good jajangmyeon in Marine City, this is a dish worth trying at least once.

Beef jjamppong
Next was the beef jjamppong. The broth is what matters most in jjamppong, and this one was rich and spicy, going well with the noodles. With beef instead of the usual seafood, it had a different flavor from your typical seafood jjamppong, and the broth had such depth that I kept going back for more.

At a Chinese restaurant, you're always torn between jajang and jjamppong, but ordering both to share that day was perfect.

Tangsuyuk
You can't skip tangsuyuk at a Chinese restaurant. The crispy fried pork with sauce drizzled on top was, as expected, satisfying. Crispy outside and tender inside, it went well alongside the ganjajang and jjamppong. It's also a great dish to share when dining with a group, so if it's a family meal or a gathering, I'd recommend making sure to order tangsuyuk.

Oyeopgyeol mapo tofu
And then, something a bit different that we ordered that day — oyeopgyeol mapo tofu. With pork belly added to mapo tofu, it had a different feel from regular mapo tofu. The combination of soft tofu and meat worked really well, and it seemed like it'd also be great with rice. If you're visiting with a group, adding a dish like this alongside the basic jajang and jjamppong to share is a great idea.

Even more generous with the review-event dumplings
We also ate the dumplings we got from the review event. We were already full from the main dishes, but with the service dish added on top, the table got pretty packed. If you visit with a group, there's a lot of fun in ordering a variety of dishes to share, which makes this a great match for anyone looking for a Chinese restaurant in Marine City.

Satisfying from the food to the atmosphere
The biggest thing I took away from this meal at Bueokgan was that it's not just about good food — you also get to enjoy the atmosphere and the view together. If you're looking for a place in Marine City where you can eat while looking out at the sea, this seems like a pretty solid choice. The room is also nice and the space itself is clean, so it works well as a spot for family gatherings, group meetings, or hosting guests. The food looked great for photos too, and overall the taste was satisfying. Above all, considering the atmosphere and ocean view, I thought the value for money was pretty good.

If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant with good atmosphere in Marine City
If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant in Marine City, Busan, that's not just about tasty jajangmyeon or jjamppong but also delivers on ocean view, atmosphere, and flavor all together, I'd recommend Bueokgan. You can eat leisurely while looking out at the sea, and there's a room space too, so it's good for family gatherings or group meetings. From familiar dishes like ganjajang, beef jjamppong, and tangsuyuk to something a bit more special like oyeopgyeol mapo tofu, there's a good variety to enjoy, so it was great for a group visit sharing dishes. If you're looking for a Marine City restaurant to bring an important guest to, this could be a solid choice since it covers the atmosphere as well.

Good food plus a gorgeous Busan sea view made the meal itself feel like a fun little occasion. If you're looking for a Chinese restaurant with good atmosphere in Marine City, Bueokgan is a place I'd want to visit again.
