Gwangalli drone show date bar with window seats in Busan: Moknal

I was looking for somewhere for a simple drink in Gwangalli and ended up at Moknal. It's right in front of Gwangalli Beach, and once inside, the Gwangan Bridge view was so much better than I expected that I found myself staring out the window even before the food arrived haha.

Gwangan Bridge ocean view right by Gwangalli Beach

There are so many restaurants and bars in Gwangalli, but if you've come all the way to the beach, you want to sit somewhere with a good view of Gwangan Bridge, right? Moknal is on an upper floor, so the first thing I noticed was that you can see the whole Gwangalli sea and Gwangan Bridge at once from inside.

Once inside, the space was bigger than I expected. There were round tables and tables for larger groups, and with a lot of wood used throughout, the overall vibe was cozy.

It wasn't decorated in a flashy way — more the kind of place good for a slow chat — and sure enough, when we visited there were a lot of couples on dates. It'd be comfortable with friends too, but it really suits a Gwangalli date for two.

What I liked most about Moknal was, of course, the Gwangan Bridge view from the window seats 👍

The floor-to-ceiling window opens up onto Gwangalli's sea and Gwangan Bridge, and sitting there in person felt even more open than in photos. The sea before the sun fully sets is pretty, and once the lights come on across Gwangan Bridge as time passes, the mood shifts completely.

I liked that you don't even need to look for a rooftop or outdoor seat in Gwangalli — you can just sit comfortably indoors and see this view.

We visited around the second-round hour, so it was a bit quiet and we could take our time looking around inside. That meant we got to comfortably use the window seat facing Gwangan Bridge. Soon after, more guests started coming in, and I noticed quite a few couples on dates among them.

I especially thought this would make a great date spot on days with the Gwangalli drone show. It's good for stopping by before or after the show to eat something simple while passing the time, and since you can enjoy the Gwangan Bridge night view together too, it seemed like a great addition to a date route.

Moknal's menu and what comes in the 30,000-won mixed skewer set

Looking at the menu, Moknal had more variety than I expected — kimchi mandu jeongol (kimchi dumpling hot pot) along with other hot pots and soups, plus grilled dishes and skewers. There were warm soup dishes too, so it seemed like a good spot to visit once the weather turns chilly.

For a simple drink that day, we ordered the ₩30,000 mixed skewer set.

The mixed skewers let you try a bit of everything at once — heart, garlic, ginkgo nuts, king oyster mushroom, chicken thigh, bacon, gizzard, pork belly, sausage, and king prawn. There was more variety than expected when it first arrived, and it looked easy to pick through one by one.

There was one thing I really liked about the mixed skewers here. Usually at skewer places, they come out still stuck on the skewer, but at Moknal, the grilled ingredients had already been taken off the skewer and served together on one plate.

That meant we didn't have to pull each piece off the skewer ourselves — we could just pick things up one at a time, which also made it easy to alternate between the different types.

There was a big king prawn, golden grilled garlic, ginkgo nuts, and king oyster mushroom, plus a fair variety of meats. The chicken thigh was grilled and cut into easy-to-eat pieces, and the sausage had been scored before grilling. There were also bacon-wrapped pieces, so the flavor and texture varied a bit across the plate.

It wasn't just meat, meat, meat — grilled garlic, ginkgo nuts, and king oyster mushroom were mixed in throughout, so it was fun to alternate between different bites. With a whole king prawn thrown in too, the plate lived up to the name 'mixed skewers' — it felt like a pretty solid set.

Which night is best to visit Moknal, a Gwangalli bar?

Picking up a skewer while chatting and then looking up to see Gwangan Bridge right in front of you — that was a nice touch. The mixed skewers alone are easy, comfortable food, but with the Gwangalli sea and Gwangan Bridge view added on top, the mood was clearly different. The owner was also kind and easygoing, so even as a first-time visitor, I could relax and enjoy the time there.

Personally, Moknal felt less like a place trying to show off a flashy vibe and more like somewhere to comfortably enjoy food and time with Gwangalli's sea right in front of you.
