Jeonju Hanok Village is a must on any Jeonju trip, haha. Wandering around every corner of the village means more walking than you'd expect, so at some point your legs start aching and you just want to stop for a rest. This time, instead of just grabbing coffee at a regular cafe, I wanted something a bit more special, so I visited Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang, a foot bath and massage cafe in Jeonju Hanok Village. It was more unique than I expected and I really liked it!

Where is Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang and how do you get there?

Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang is on the second floor of a hanok building at 61 Eunhaeng-ro, inside Jeonju Hanok Village. It was easy to stop by mid-route, and since the building itself is a hanok, it blended naturally into the surrounding scenery. Looking up from below, the big Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang sign on the second floor made it easy to find.

There's a big foot-shaped sign and information board at the entrance, so it was easy to spot right away. I could even see photos from when it was featured on TV, and from the entrance alone it felt clearly different from a regular cafe, which made me curious what was inside.

The cafe is on the second floor of the building. You go up a wooden staircase from the entrance, and the wood keeps that distinct hanok feel, which suited the mood of Jeonju Hanok Village well.

I found myself reading each of the one-line quotes posted along the stairs as I went up, haha.

Inside, you take off your shoes first and change into the indoor slippers provided before using the space. There were more foot bath seats than I expected, and people kept coming in the whole time I was there. It seemed like a lot of people stop by mid-tour of Jeonju Hanok Village to rest.

What I liked most about Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang right from the start was the window seating. Foot bath chairs line up along the floor-to-ceiling windows, and sitting there gives you a straight-on view of hanok rooftops and the Jeonju Hanok Village scenery.

You can naturally look down over the hanok rooftops and people walking through the alleys, and it's genuinely enjoyable just to sit and watch. The view from up here felt quite different from the view you get walking through the village yourself, haha. Soaking my feet in warm water while looking out over Jeonju Hanok Village really felt like a proper mid-trip break. Being able to sit, take in the scenery, and rest comfortably in the middle of a walking-heavy hanok village itinerary was really nice.

Three foot bath scents at Jeonmang — I chose rose

Each seat has its own foot bath machine, plus a small table and a fan. Before starting, staff show you the foot bath products in person — there were three options: peppermint, lavender, and rose. According to the description, peppermint clears the head and exfoliates, lavender calms mind and body and eases headaches and insomnia, and rose helps with memory and stress relief. Since I felt like I needed both memory help and stress relief lately, I picked rose without much hesitation, haha.

Sole-rolling massage and a shoulder massager during the soak

After putting the chosen product into warm water and soaking your feet, they cover you with a blanket. The foot bath machine doesn't just hold warm water — it also rolls and massages the soles of your feet, so even sitting still, your feet keep getting massaged. On top of that, they bring over a shoulder massager, so soaking my feet in warm water, getting a sole-rolling massage, and having my shoulders massaged all at once felt amazing — after walking around the hanok village so much, my sore feet and shoulders loosened up together, and it genuinely felt like a proper rest.

It really resonated with me, haha. It was nice to flip through the booklet during the foot bath, or just quietly stare out the window at the view. I imagined how pretty the view must be at night too.

The drink included in the course, and how the foot bath tubs are cleaned

The foot bath course also includes a drink. You can choose from an Americano and several kinds of tea and beverages.

Soaking my feet in warm water, getting a shoulder massage, and then sipping a cold Americano was better than I expected. With the hanok village view spread out in front of me, it really felt like I was properly enjoying a break during my trip.

And the part I appreciated most was the hygiene management. After each person finished their foot bath, the staff would pull out the tray inside the foot bath machine and wash it thoroughly, including the crevices. I'm someone who pays a bit of attention to hygiene wherever I go, and honestly, since this is a machine used by many different people, that aspect had been quietly on my mind. Seeing them wash it by hand after every single use really won me over on the hygiene side too.

There were several shoulder massagers set up as well, so even when there were a lot of people, they were managed in order so everyone could use one.

There's also a separate changing room in the back, which seemed convenient for anyone who showed up in clothes not suited for a foot bath.

After the foot bath and massage, I wiped my feet dry and finished up with the foot cream provided, leaving my feet feeling soft and smooth, haha. After a warm foot soak, a sole massage, and then the cream on top, my feet felt noticeably lighter and refreshed.

At the end, there was a sink off to the side where I could wash my hands properly. From start to finish, everything you'd need was well prepared, which I liked.

Before leaving, I noticed the counter also sold the foot bath products used in-store, along with ramie leaf tea, persimmon leaf mint tea, massagers, and hand acupressure tools separately. If you try something and like it, you can buy it on the spot.

Jeonju Hanok Village has so much to see that you end up walking a lot, so it feels like you need a proper rest stop somewhere in the middle of the trip. Unlike a regular cafe where you just drink coffee and leave, this place let me enjoy a warm foot bath, sole-rolling massage, shoulder massage, and a drink all together, which made it memorable. Above all, I loved looking down over the hanok village while soaking my feet — it genuinely felt great, and I was glad I stopped by after a day of a lot of walking. If you're looking for a slightly different kind of cafe in Jeonju Hanok Village, or just need somewhere comfortable to rest after walking a lot, this is a good place to check out.
