Back at Jeonmang, a Jeonju Hanok Village foot bath café, one year later
When you travel a lot, there's always that one place you stumbled onto last year and instantly loved so much you knew you had to come back. Do any of you have a little hideout spot like that, one you found on a rainy day and just couldn't forget? Around this time last year, I wandered into Jeonju on a softly rainy day and stumbled onto this café, and the memory of unwinding there in that moody, atmospheric setting still feels vivid. This time, with the weather absolutely gorgeous on a clear autumn day back in Jeonju, I didn't hesitate for a second before revisiting.

I figured there was no better place to escape the blazing sun and rest somewhere cool and cozy. You're probably curious whether the spot that welcomed me so warmly a year ago would feel just as good this time. Today I'll walk you through the charm of enjoying a foot bath on a sunny day, carrying all the good memories from last time. If you've been wondering about a special healing break that makes tired travel-legs feel light again, stick with me.

Why Jeonmang suits a day of heavy walking in Jeonju Hanok Village
When you travel, you end up walking so much that at some point your legs swell up and fatigue settles heavily over your whole body. What do you usually do to recharge after hours of wandering around? Sitting at an ordinary café chatting is nice too, but sometimes what you really crave is something that directly works out the tiredness in your body.

I remembered the little world I discovered by chance on a rainy day last year, so this time I went right back to Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang (안마족욕카페전망), famous as a recommended café in Jeonju Hanok Village. Last year I healed to the sound of gentle rain; this time I decided to escape the hot sun and enjoy some ease under clear, crisp autumn skies.

From the moment I stepped through the entrance, the fond memories from a year ago came flooding back, and my mind instantly felt at ease. Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang still greets you with the same cozy, warm atmosphere, and it never fails to live up to expectations no matter when you visit.

What a 40-50 minute foot bath at Jeonmang includes: shoulder massager and massage stick
Once you settle comfortably into your seat and get guided through the process, warm water is filled in before you know it and the real foot bath time begins. The moment your feet go in, a pleasant warmth spreads through your whole body, and all the fatigue that's built up starts to melt away.

On top of that, an automatic massager kneads your shoulders while a massage stick gets placed in your hands — honestly, it doesn't get more perfect than that. Over a solid 40 to 50 minutes, the tension melts out of your whole body and you experience the magic of heavy legs turning feather-light.

After being worn out from wandering around in the bright sun, getting warm feet and a cool, cared-for shoulder in a cool indoor space really did feel like paradise. Through this revisit, I understood all over again why so many people, searching for café recommendations in Jeonju Hanok Village, stumble onto this place and can't stop marveling at it. In the middle of a busy itinerary, spending this short amount of time entirely on yourself really does change the quality of the whole trip.

Drink service and hanok views from the window at Jeonmang
Once you've thoroughly enjoyed the foot bath and massage, a sweet, fragrant drink service is perfectly ready and waiting, making your mouth happy too. The first time I visited Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang, I assumed they'd just serve some simple tea, but the drink quality is genuinely excellent, on par with a proper specialty shop. Soaking your feet in warm water while sipping a cool drink and gazing at the serene scenery outside the window — there's nothing left to envy in the world.

The atmospheric mood of last year's rainy visit was wonderful, but there's a different kind of charm in visiting on a clear, sunny day and just taking your time. Rather than simply grabbing a coffee at a Jeonju Hanok Village café, a course like this that clears out fatigue from both body and mind at once feels so much more worthwhile. Sitting side by side with a friend, both of us exclaiming how refreshing it is while chatting about little things — isn't this exact moment the real happiness that travel gives you?

I lost track of time completely — the 40 minutes flew by in the blink of an eye, almost frustratingly fast. Sitting quietly lost in thought, or tuning into the music playing and focusing on pure rest, clears out your head completely too. Traveling can wear you down physically and make you edgy, so taking a foot bath break like this as a mid-trip check-in lets you tackle the rest of your itinerary with much more energy.

Is Jeonmang worth a mid-trip break in Jeonju?
Anma Jogyok Cafe Jeonmang, where you can soak in the open feel of hanok architecture while enjoying modern-day healing at the same time, is a place I can confidently recommend to anyone, regardless of age or gender. Carrying the good memories from last year into this revisit, the café once again didn't disappoint and delivered a perfectly satisfying healing experience. I hope you all get to try this magical stretch of time that makes tired, walked-out legs feel light again and clears out a cluttered mind.

If you're torn about which of the countless café spots in Jeonju Hanok Village to visit, don't overthink it — head this way. After a warm cup of tea washes away your fatigue, you'll be able to continue your Jeonju trip much more happily with lighter steps. Next time I come back to Jeonju, I'll definitely revisit again to enjoy this ease once more — it's become a precious hideout of mine.
