Today I watched a movie at Gimpo CGV for the first time in a while, and for dinner I went to eat proper charcoal-grilled ribs at Galbigumteo, a well-known Pungmu-dong restaurant. They use domestic pork ribs, and I loved how soft and delicious the seasoning was — apparently they make all the sauce themselves. The side dishes were tasty too. Let me tell you all about Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch! ^^
Where is Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch, and is there parking?
Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch is on 133 Pungmu-ro, right on the main road through Pungmu-dong, so it was easy to find. The yellow sign really stands out, doesn't it?
Two parking lots: in front of and behind the restaurant
There's a lot in front, but if you head behind the building there's an even bigger lot, so this Pungmu-dong restaurant is easy to use even if you're coming with a big group.

It's right across from Gimpo CGV, so it's a great option for a relaxed dinner after a movie, right?
Galbigumteo opening hours and what the inside looks like
Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch is open weekdays 11:30–22:00 and weekends 10:00–22:00. There's no break time in between, so if you avoid peak meal hours like I did, you can enjoy a relaxed meal.
The interior is spacious with an open ground floor, so the smell of grilled meat doesn't linger and the ventilation was good.
There are large tables in the back, perfect for a company dinner — if you're coming with a group, booking ahead should get you a more private setup.
Galbigumteo menu and ordering by table tablet
Ordering at Galbigumteo was easy with the tablet at the table. The photos and descriptions made it simple to choose.

I ordered Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch's signature menu — two servings of domestic king-size pork ribs.

Charcoal-grilled domestic king-size pork ribs, 300g per serving
Wow~ true to its reputation as a Pungmu-dong favorite, they use good, strong charcoal fire. Grilling over charcoal really does make the meat softer and brings out more flavor. They set us up with a variety of side dishes too.
Pork ribs that look delicious at a glance. Having the bone still attached made it feel even more trustworthy. Once it went on the charcoal — wow, doesn't it look amazing?

The side dishes were clean and tasty too~ There were plenty that paired well with the meat, so I could eat according to my taste.

These onions were tasty even on their own with the sauce~ I saved some to eat together with the grilled meat later.

Since it's charcoal, you have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't burn, flipping it front and back~ There were scoring cuts in the meat so the inside cooked through evenly.
The self-serve kimchi pancake and side dish corner
At Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch, there's kimchi pancake (kimchijeon) set up so you can have a quick bite while the meat grills. It was thoughtfully set up so you could make it yourself right there.
On top of that, you could freely help yourself to the side dishes. Taking just as much as you'll eat means nothing goes to waste, right?

Making the kimchi pancake was simple too. Look at this cute little kimchijeon I finished making!

Rice with doenjang jjigae, and the cold noodles
Anyone need rice with their meat? Especially with pork ribs, rice is the perfect combo! Ordering a bowl of rice brought a doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) along with it~

The doenjang jjigae was great with rice too — not too strong, not too mild.

The pork ribs slowly cooking through. At 300g per serving, the portion was generous too. Once everything was cooked evenly, I cut it up with scissors for easy eating.

Looks delicious at a glance, doesn't it? The tender texture melting in your mouth paired with the sweet-salty sauce was great~ Definitely worth ordering the signature dish of this Pungmu-dong favorite.
The pairing with onion was great too~ Being able to mix and match all the side dishes with the meat to my taste made it even better.

Mul-naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) at Galbigumteo
Eating pork ribs makes me crave water naengmyeon (cold noodles) too. The refreshing noodles paired really well with the ribs. Popping a bite of naengmyeon and a piece of pork rib into your mouth together — so good!

By the end I was so full at Galbigumteo! It really is a pork rib favorite~ If you want to enjoy delicious pork ribs with your kids or family, come to Galbigumteo Pungmu Station Branch~ ^^
