Pocheon pasta restaurant with 48-hour ciabatta: From Italy
In short
From Italy is a Blue Ribbon Italian restaurant in Gomo-ri, Pocheon, well placed for a stop after Gwangneung Arboretum and Sanjeong Lake. After a day at Sanjeong Lake, the writer and her mother ordered the zucca dolce pasta (37,000 won) and a half-and-half pizza (34,000 won) with two ades, and From Italy served a 48-hour aged ciabatta as the starter bread. With its European brick-house look, seating on both floors and an outdoor garden, From Italy is saved as a special-occasion meal for the next Pocheon trip.

After finishing our trip to Sanjeong Lake in Pocheon, I'd burned through more energy than expected, so I wanted something a little different and delicious. Among the many restaurants around Gomo-ri, what caught my eye was a restaurant that's won a Blue Ribbon award several years running — "From Italy"! Once I actually went, I immediately understood why it's such an influential restaurant and why reservations are such a battle.
From Italy — the Blue Ribbon pasta restaurant in Gomo-ri, Pocheon
Where is From Italy, and is there parking?
From Italy is in Gomo-ri, near Gwangneung Arboretum and Sanjeong Lake. With so many attractions nearby, it's a great spot to stop after sightseeing or to visit on its own for a date.

There's a dedicated parking lot in front of the restaurant with wide spacing between spots, so even beginner drivers can park without worry.

The European brick house and seating on both floors
From Italy looks like a small brick house tucked into some European village, so I felt the exotic atmosphere the moment I arrived. But it was too early to be surprised.

Once inside, everything from the small decor pieces to the warm interior gave off a high-end European mansion feel. My mom, who came along, was clearly impressed too, saying it was a proper, atmospheric restaurant — which made me pretty proud.

With quiet music and soft lighting added on top, it felt like a refined place — perfect for a date, too.

There's a 1st and 2nd floor, so I went up to check out the second floor as well. The view of the mountains through the window was gorgeous. Compared to the first floor, more natural light comes in, and it's a space where you can eat comfortably while enjoying the scenery. I think it's worth reserving based on which vibe you prefer :)

What we ordered for two, and what it cost
At From Italy, my mom and I ordered zucca dolce (₩37,000), a half-and-half pizza (₩34,000), and two ades. Maybe because the chef, who came from a 5-star hotel, cooks the food himself, the quality was really something else.

The 48-hour aged ciabatta starter bread
As a starter bread, we got ciabatta that the restaurant ferments in-house for 48 hours. It had this chewy yet soft texture that kept pulling my hand back for more. Right after, the dishes we ordered arrived.

Zucca dolce, the signature pumpkin pasta at 37,000 won
Zucca dolce is From Italy's signature pasta — spicy tomato-sauce spaghetti loaded with various seafood, served inside a sweet pumpkin.

The pumpkin's sweetness tamed the slightly spicy sauce, and the umami just exploded. On top of that, the ingredients were generous — plenty of seafood, bacon, mushrooms, and more, so it was fun picking through everything. The portion is about 1.5 servings' worth, which made the price feel completely justified.

Half-and-half pizza, 34,000 won: blueberry or margherita
For the half-and-half pizza, we chose blueberry and margherita. The wood-fired grain dough was wonderfully chewy, and my pizza-connoisseur mom took one bite and then quietly ate several slices in a row, no words needed :)

The blueberry pizza was sweet, and combined with the generous, savory cheese, the flavor in my mouth was just so good.
The outdoor terrace garden and photo zone
Details that show they're thinking of their guests
After finishing our meal, we stopped by the outdoor terrace space outside the From Italy building. It's beautifully arranged as a small garden, with its own separate photo zone.

Surrounded by mountains, it was a great spot to quietly spend our own time together and chat, just the two of us. This kind of thoughtful attention to guests really touched me.
Is From Italy in Pocheon worth a return trip?
That was our story of a delicious meal at From Italy, the Blue Ribbon pasta restaurant in Gomo-ri, Pocheon. With blue mountains visible through the windows and antique European atmosphere all around, it was a restaurant with real character where I got to taste some ★-worthy food. I've already saved it as a place to come back to whenever I visit Pocheon.
