Birthday steak set for two with cake lettering at Bokkeriu, Hanam

Here's my review of Bokkeriu, where I got to properly enjoy steak and risotto in a great atmosphere! I visited for a special birthday meal, and the food was delicious — plus I even got a lettering service at the end, which made it even more memorable.

For the lettering service, write your request in advance in the notes when booking on Naver Reservations! If you're not ordering the set menu, they say they can still do it if you order a cake. Let me show you right away...!!

Bokkeriu's steak set for two: what's included and the price

I ordered the steak set for two at ₩118,000, plus ₩4,000 to swap for risotto.

Sourdough, soup, and half salad

First came warm sourdough and soup — it had that mashed-and-blended sweet corn feel?! Eating the plain, savory bread with the soup was soft and nutty, and it put me in a great mood even before the meal properly started.

Next came the half salad, which seemed to be a ricotta cheese salad — the fresh vegetables blended well with the dressing, cleansing my palate nicely and working great as an appetizer! For the steak set, you can choose between pasta and risotto, and I went with risotto! There were two risotto options — striploin mushroom risotto or shrimp bisque risotto — and I picked the shrimp one haha.

How was the shrimp bisque risotto?

The shrimp bisque risotto reportedly has tomato bisque, black tiger shrimp, sweet shrimp, and saffron in it — and I could really taste the rich flavor and umami of the shrimp, plus that signature soft, thick risotto texture. Eating it alternately with the steak let me enjoy two different flavors, and I was really satisfied with the combo. Now I want to try their other pasta dishes next time haha.

200g Korean beef striploin steak

The main event, the 200g Korean beef striploin steak, exceeded expectations too — the meat had a clean, savory richness, and there was a good variety of garnish vegetables, making it a decent portion to share between two people. Eating it slowly while chatting really gave off that relaxed birthday-meal feeling!

How do you get the birthday lettering service?

For drinks, I chose iced peppermint tea and a hot americano. The cool peppermint tea felt like it cleared my palate after the meal, and the warm americano paired well with dessert 💗

And the most special moment of the day was the final dessert cake! I had written a request in advance when booking, so they prepared the lettering service — a cheesecake with an adorable teddy bear candle, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY beautifully written in lettering at the base 🎂 🧸

Having the dessert come out prepared like a birthday event rather than just served plainly made me really happy. Thanks to the pretty cake, I got great photos and the mood of a special day really came through, so if you're visiting for a birthday or anniversary, I'd recommend requesting the lettering service in advance.

How is it for a Hanam date or anniversary meal?

Overall, being able to enjoy bread and soup, salad, risotto, steak, and dessert and drinks in order made the meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. This seems like a great fit for anyone looking for a good spot for a Hanam date on a special day!
