Today I'm giving you my honest review of the tasty snacks I had at Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch (대신땅콩빵 남대문시장점), a Namdaemun Market snack favorite :)

Where is Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch?
Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch is inside Namdaemun Market, in Galchi Alley (the cutlassfish alley), so it's easy to find. Just follow the nutty smell from the market entrance.
I could look into the shop from outside, and it looked really neat and clean. It made me feel I could eat the peanut bread here with peace of mind.

Menu and prices at Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch
Daesin is a peanut bread specialist, but it also sells egg bread, roasted peanuts, peanut butter and peanut smoothies, and the prices are really cheap.

The prices here are so low!

The peanut bread, fresh from the oven and piping hot, looks great just sitting there.

They call their tips for eating it at its best "CPR tips" (심폐소생팁), which made me laugh, haha. Just follow the instructions and you're set.

They have peanut butter and peanut smoothies too
I love peanut butter, so it's even better that Daesin sells it. They say it's made from their own dough, the only one in Korea, so it's nuttier and tastier. I'll trust them on that.

A peanut smoothie? What's that? I've never seen or tried one. I'd normally have ordered it, but I was going straight to a meal that day, so I skipped it. Now I'm curious.

Is Daesin's packaging good for gifts?
The packaging cases for Daesin's items are pretty too, so I think they'd make good gifts.

They packed it up nicely. They left both the box and the bag open so steam wouldn't make the bread soggy, and maybe because of that, I kept it at home for 3 days and it stayed crisp.

One box of peanut bread for ₩10,000: how many peanuts are inside?
One box of peanut bread: ₩10,000
That works out to about ₩100 per peanut bread. Why is it so cheap?? Boss, are you even making a profit!?

There are 5–6 peanuts in each one, hahaha. Wow...

Seriously, how can a peanut bread have this many peanuts? It's amazing!!

Many places only put peanut flavor in the batter, but at Daesin there are lots of actual peanuts as well as the peanut batter, so the chew is great and it's nutty and delicious.

The sweet smell is lovely and the crunch is great. It's a flavor people of any age will like, and I was very satisfied.

Can you keep Daesin's peanut bread at room temperature?
There was so much peanut bread that I kept it at room temperature for about 3 days, and it stayed just like when I first bought it, so I enjoyed it. I'm hooked on this peanut bread.
It's in Galchi Alley in Namdaemun Market, so it's great to eat while you wait for braised cutlassfish (galchi-jorim), or to buy and have as dessert afterwards.
I think I'll go again. Next time I'll get the peanut butter and peanut smoothie too, hahaha. It was delicious, generous and well priced, truly great value. I recommend Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch to anyone looking for Namdaemun Market peanut bread or a Namdaemun Market snack.
