Late-night restaurant in Mangwon, Seoul: Kielbasa in Hell, Macho Nacho

Today I want to introduce a place I discovered in Mangwon — Macho Nacho! *ଯ( ॢᵕ꒶̮ᵕ)ॢഒ*♡

We live in Gyeonggi-do so we don't come into Seoul that often, but my boyfriend was getting his suit fitted in Yeonnam-dong, and we happened to be heading there for a fitting. Since we were nearby, we looked for a place to grab dinner too, and that's how we found this spot haha

Plus, since we were visiting late at night, I was looking for something that wouldn't feel too heavy to eat, and this place fit the bill perfectly :)

Where is Macho Nacho? Hours and parking in Mangwon

• Hours: Mon, Wed, Thu 17:00–01:00 / Fri, Sat, Sun 13:00–01:00
• Last order 12:30 / Closed every Tuesday
• Parking: use nearby public parking lot (Mangwon Public Parking Lot 3)

This is the entrance to Macho Nacho! The sign was so cute~! I love buildings made of red brick, and Macho Nacho happens to be in exactly that kind of brick building! It's not a big place, but it has a cute, charming feel to it ( ꜆ᐢ. ̫.ᐢ)꜆♡

Macho Nacho doesn't have its own parking lot, so you have to use a nearby public lot! We parked at Mangwon Public Parking Lot 3 and walked over. But here's something worth knowing if you're visiting late at night — parking is free after 8pm, so if you come as late as we did, you don't have to worry about parking fees :) We visited after 8pm too, so we got free parking haha

Why Macho Nacho works for a Mangwon Hangang Park picnic

Macho Nacho also sells draft beer! Since Mangwon Hangang Park is nearby, a lot of picnic-goers order nachos to go along with some draft beer :> We visited late on a weekday so we couldn't do that this time, but next time we definitely want to get takeout and eat it at the river!

Menu

First, the nachos and drinking snack menu! There are 5 kinds of nachos total, and you can add toppings to customize them to your taste :) The drinking snacks were more varied than I expected too — from simple sides to heartier dishes, so it seemed like a good place for a light drink. Since we were visiting late and didn't want anything too heavy, there seemed to be plenty of options for us too haha

There's also a separate soup menu! Right when we arrived, the table next to us happened to be eating clam soup, and the moment we saw it we thought, "Oh... should we get that too?" lolol We weren't drinking that night so we didn't end up ordering it, but next time I definitely want to try the clam soup haha

There was also a wide variety of drinks! From non-alcoholic to alcoholic options, there was plenty of variety to choose from depending on your taste :) And at the bottom of the menu, the wifi password is listed too, so anyone who needs it can reference that ꒰ᐢɞ̴̶̷ ·̫ ɞ̴̶̷ᐢ꒱

"Ask when we're not busy!" What is the other menu at Macho Nacho?

The final highlight! Looking at the menu, there was one item that said "Ask when not busy!" lolol The description alone was fun, and I was so curious what kind of menu it could be. Of course my boyfriend, who can never resist a mystery, immediately asked, "What's the other menu?" lol

Turns out it's a menu the owner makes up on the spot using whatever ingredients he has that day! He wrote down the possible dishes for us one by one on a memo pad like this (~ ᵕ ̫ ᵕ)~ He also roughly explained the price range, and actually told us not to bother ordering ordinary dishes lol He said since those are things you can eat anywhere else, it's better to try something more special here haha

Being able to get a personal recommendation for whatever's possible that day, instead of just ordering off the printed menu, felt unique and fun! Thanks to that we got to have an experience we wouldn't normally have at a restaurant.

After some deliberation, we ordered the signature nachos and Kielbasa in Hell! Actually, we were going to pick one item from that "other menu" I mentioned earlier. When we told him we wanted something spicy, the owner recommended this right away :> We're both pretty weak with spicy food so we were a little worried lol, but he said he could adjust the spice level down a bit, so we ordered with peace of mind haha

Doesn't it look so appetizing・・・ Cheese and bacon on the nachos, plus jalapeños, which I love... The crunchy, salty flavor was soooo good haha♥︎ The portion was bigger than expected too, so there was absolutely nothing lacking!

Piling a spoonful full like this and eating it in one bite — the satisfaction! lolol I'm a big eater so eating it this way was so, so delicious~!!!

How spicy is Kielbasa in Hell?

Second dish! The kielbasa sausage that I'd only seen in mukbang videos caught my eye so I ordered it haha The sausage sitting on top of plenty of sauce looked so appetizing from the visual alone (๑•﹃•๑) They gave us a separate knife and fork, so we cut it into bite-sized pieces and gave it a try!

The moment I took a bite, that carbo buldak (carbonara fire chicken) flavor I love so much hit hard lolol So good... I put my diet aside for a moment and just kept eating and eating. Even though it was quite spicy for someone weak with spice like me, I couldn't stop my hands and kept going ㅠlolol It was spicy but so good that my hand kept reaching for more 🔥

Once you step inside you pass through a short hallway! The side is the cooking area~ Go straight and you reach the table seating area haha

There were about 5 tables inside I think! Made up of 2-person and 4-person tables ;>

The cute props and lighting are a nice touch too haha The restroom is behind the curtain in the photo on the left! It's unisex, and the restroom wasn't as small as I expected, so it was comfortable to use!

We were so, so satisfied with our meal at Macho Nacho! Next time if we visit on a weekend, we want to get takeout and go hang out by the Han River haha I recommend Macho Nacho, a great restaurant near Mangwon Han River ς( ˶ᵔөᵔ˶ς)*̥₊˚‧

Is Macho Nacho worth a late-night visit?

• Located near Mangwon Hangang Park, great to stop by along with a Han River picnic
• A wide range of options with various nachos, drinking snacks, and soups
• Has a fun twist with the 'other menu' where the owner recommends dishes based on the day's available ingredients
• Nachos are available for takeout along with draft beer, good for a casual time
• A cute, cozy interior that also works well for a date or simple dinner

Overall this place left a strong impression. Even though we weren't drinking, the food itself was delicious enough to satisfy us, and each dish had more personality than I expected, so it was fun to eat. Most of all, being able to get a new dish recommended based on that day's ingredients — like the 'other menu' — felt like Macho Nacho's own unique charm!
