Nashville hot chicken taco and tacorice in Mangwon-dong: Taco Dot
In short
Taco Dot Mangwon Market Main Branch is a Mexican taco restaurant in a residential alley off Mangwon Market in Mapo, Seoul. Arriving an hour after opening, the writer landed waiting number 1 and got seated within 5 minutes, ordering the Nashville hot chicken taco, pulled pork taco, and Okinawa tacorice alongside a Jose Cuervo shot and a tequila highball. The Nashville hot chicken taco — mild enough even for a spice wimp — was the clear favorite.

Taco Dot in Mangwon-dong, visited an hour after opening
Today I'm introducing 'Taco Dot,' a Mangwon-dong favorite ❤️
It's famous as a taco place with long lines, so I went about an hour after opening!

Turn off the alley near Mangwon Market and the shop is tucked into a residential area, but the sign has such a strong presence that I immediately went, ah, this is it haha

How's the waiting? Register on the tablet, wait 5 minutes
Right inside the door there's a tablet where you register for a table, and since we were the first ones there, we got number 1 and waited about 5 minutes!

Inside the restaurant and the self-service bar
The interior wasn't as cramped as I expected! I'd read it was small so I thought it'd be all bar seats with no room to move, but as you can see there are about 4 tables in the main hall and plenty of space to walk around!
Going further in, there's another space

The restroom is inside the restaurant too, which is convenient

The self-service bar has everything from cutlery to blankets all set up

There were a lot of drink options too! Oh, and since the alcohol menu wasn't spelled out in detail, we did quite a bit of searching ourselves. They serve Jose Cuervo shots, tequila highballs, and imported bottled beer!

Taco Dot's menu board
Let me show you the menu. The photo above is the 2-piece taco line, and

This one is the fajita platter!

This is more like a Korean-style one-dish meal — the line where everything's piled in and mixed together

Even the napkins are taco-themed napkins
What we ordered
- Nashville hot chicken taco ₩11,000
- Pulled pork taco ₩11,000
- Okinawa tacorice ₩17,900
- Jose Cuervo shot ₩5,000
- Tequila highball ₩8,000
We ordered two tacos and a tacorice, and for drinks a shot and a highball!

There was a lime slice on top so I could enjoy a refreshing zing with it

The cup is cute too hahahaha, cool and sweet, it really went well with the tacos ㅠㅠ on a hot day a cold highball is just the best,,

After a short wait, everything arrived. Looks so good ㅠㅠㅠ
The tacorice was bigger than I expected, and it had way more ingredients packed in than I thought it would!

Nashville hot chicken taco — the clear favorite
First off, this Nashville hot chicken taco is my confident number one pick.. legendarily good. The chicken's outside isn't just crispy, it's ultra-crunchy — like an upgraded version of the patty in that Mom's Touch psycho burger, you know? The chicken alone is delicious, but with fresh veggies and sauce drizzled all over it, there's no way it could taste bad,, I was worried since it's literally called hot chicken and the menu description says it's spicy, but even for a spice wimp like me it was just mildly spicy, so if I could only order one thing, I'd definitely order the Nashville hot chicken!!

Pulled pork taco
The pulled pork felt like tender meat soaked deeply in seasoning and put together. Like taking that braised beef you get with Bonjuk porridge, slicing it thin, then tossing it heavily in delicious Mexican seasoning!! The juices burst out too, so when you have no appetite, I feel like you could just polish off 4 pieces of this

Okinawa tacorice
The tacorice actually has rice inside. I ordered it without realizing, but well, it's literally called 'rice' in the name, why didn't I notice. You pour the sauce next to it and mix it all together, and I couldn't believe rice pairs this well with taco flavors ㅠㅠ if you feel like tacos alone won't fill you up, try this one!! It was my first time trying it and I was totally into it, the kind of dish that probably has no haters 😍
True to its reputation as a place worth the wait, it was packed with nothing but delicious menu items, and I'd love to come back again 👍
