A hearty Korean spread at Hantiok, a Nowon Lotte Department Store restaurant, with the bossam set for two.
After finishing up shopping at Lotte Department Store Nowon, we headed up to the 9th floor food court for lunch. I was craving a proper full Korean meal that day, and Hantiok, a well-known Nowon Lotte Department Store spot, caught my eye. The Korean menu was so varied that we spent a while deciding over the menu board, and in the end we went with the bossam set for two! No regrets on that choice 👍

Hantiok's dining room and high chairs for kids

Walking into Hantiok, the whole place was neatly kept overall. The tables were spaced generously and baby chairs were fully available. It looks like a good spot for family meals or lunch gatherings too. You can check the menu near the entrance beforehand, so you can roughly decide what to order before you even sit down!

Hantiok menu and prices

Hantiok's bossam set is ₩20,000 per person and requires a minimum order of two. Hantiok has a wide range of Korean dishes, including bossam, andong guksu, andong gukbap, yangji gukbap, hanwoo radish rice, and jeyuk ssambap.
You can order bossam as a single dish, or if you want to try a variety like we did, you can go for the bossam set instead. There are also 2- and 3-person sets available, so you can pick whichever set fits your group!
What comes in the bossam set for two at 20,000 won per person?

Order the bossam set for two and you get bossam, salad, mandu, and tofu together, plus a choice of gukbap or andong guksu as the main dish. We wanted to try both, so we picked one andong gukbap and one andong guksu.
When one dish alone feels like not quite enough but ordering two full dishes each seems like too much, having a set that lets you mix and match is really nice.
How does the bossam taste? Any gamey smell?

Hantiok's bossam (boiled pork wraps) came thinly sliced, so it was easy to pick up with chopsticks. It looked tender and delicious. Among us pork lovers, the most important thing with bossam is whether there's any off smell, and this was clean with none at all. The meat was soft. Topped with the radish salad that came alongside, the light flavor of the bossam gained a tangy, crunchy texture that made it refreshing to eat!
Mandu and handmade tofu come with the set
The mandu (dumplings) that came with the bossam set were big enough that they were hard to eat in one bite. Juicy and moist too!

The tofu was quite soft. Dipped in the seasoned sauce and wrapped with kimchi, it was pure bliss... Getting to try meat, mandu, and tofu all in one spread really felt like a proper full Korean meal.
Andong gukbap: a clean, light broth

Hantiok's andong gukbap (rice soup) was clean and light rather than aggressively spicy. Eating a spoonful of the warm broth in between bites of bossam warmed me up and felt like it helped digestion? If you love gukbap, I highly recommend it!
What Andong guksu at Hantiok tastes like

Hantiok's andong guksu (noodle soup) felt similar to kalguksu but with noodles that break a little more softly. The broth is light without being overwhelming. Since the bossam set lets you choose between gukbap and guksu, go with gukbap on days you're craving rice, and andong guksu on days you're craving noodles!
