Yeonnam-dong pasta restaurant, three plates for two: Hey Joji
In short
Hey Joji is a Western-style restaurant in a Yeonnam-dong alley in Mapo, Seoul, with a vintage interior that feels like an American family home. A couple shared three dishes in one sitting — cajun shrimp rosé pasta, duck steak cream risotto, and bocconcini meat chili tomato pasta — and cleaned all three plates. Hey Joji is an easy pick for a Yeonnam-dong date meal.

Today I want to share a review of some really delicious pasta and risotto I had in Yeonnam-dong 😊 Yeonnam-dong has so many pretty cafés and fun alleys to wander, it's such a great neighborhood for a date haha.
This time I visited Hey Joji! A cozy spot that feels like an American family home, with pasta good enough that I wanted to recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to eat in Yeonnam-dong 💛
We ordered two kinds of pasta plus a risotto — three dishes total — and honestly, they were so good we cleaned every plate!! haha

Where is Hey Joji, and how does it fit a Yeonnam-dong date course?
📍 Hey Joji's address is 42-24 Donggyo-ro 46-gil, 1st floor, Mapo-gu, Seoul. It sits in a Yeonnam-dong alley.
It's great for a meal while dating in Yeonnam-dong, and easy to pair with wandering the alleys or stopping by a café afterward haha. Yeonnam-dong has so many pretty restaurants it's hard to choose, but this time we picked Hey Joji for its atmosphere and its pasta-and-risotto lineup!

Hey Joji's interior: like visiting an American family home
💚 The first thing that caught my eye walking into Hey Joji was the interior! It has that overall American-family-home vibe, vintage yet cozy — really charming 💚
The green tones, wood furniture, and little props scattered around were fun to look at. Kind of like stepping into a family home out of an American movie? haha
It's warm and comfortable rather than a stiff formal restaurant feel, so it's great for chatting over a meal. If you like this kind of aesthetic, you'll love the space before you even taste the food 😊 If you're hunting for a pretty restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, the interior here is worth checking out too!

The three dishes the couple ordered at Hey Joji
🍝 We ordered three dishes total!
- Cajun shrimp rosé pasta
- Duck steak cream risotto
- Bocconcini meat chili tomato pasta
Two pastas plus a risotto — we went all in haha. Laying all three out together made for a really full spread! Ordering multiple dishes also made it easy to pick and share whatever we each felt like eating. If you're the type who doesn't want to settle for just one dish on a date, I'd recommend ordering a variety like this 💛

Cajun shrimp rosé pasta at Hey Joji
🍤 First up, the cajun shrimp rosé pasta! If you're a fan of rosé pasta, this one will catch your eye on the menu haha.
The rosé sauce was thick and savory — so, so, so good. The definitive rosé pasta!!! You get that soft, distinct rosé flavor with a thick sauce that ties it all together — just completely delicious 😊

Duck steak cream risotto at Hey Joji
Second dish: duck steak cream risotto! Pasta alone felt like not enough, so we added a risotto too haha. This one lets you enjoy duck steak alongside a cream risotto, and the duck was so tender it paired perfectly with the creamy rice!
Tender duck with cream risotto together was such a great combo 😊 Just pure savory bliss — the duck was savory, the cream was savory, tears of joy, my taste buds went straight to heaven.
It has a different charm from pasta, so I'm really glad we ordered it too!!!! If you love the meat-and-cream-sauce combo, I'd recommend this dish as well!

Bocconcini meat chili tomato pasta at Hey Joji
Last up, the bocconcini meat chili tomato pasta! The name alone made me curious haha. This dish had a rich, umami meat sauce that really stood out! The classic tomato pasta flavor combined with a deep meat sauce for great depth 😊
It has a totally different charm from the rosé pasta, so alternating between the two was a perfect match!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>_<❤ As a pasta-loving couple, we were basically pure happiness ❤ Each of the three dishes had its own distinct charm, which made trying them one by one so fun haha.

Verdict: three plates emptied at this Yeonnam-dong date restaurant
❤️ We tried three dishes at Hey Joji this time — from the thick, savory rosé pasta to the tender duck steak cream risotto to the rich meat-sauce tomato pasta — and enjoyed all of them so much! It was so delicious we cleared every single plate!! haha
Yeonnam-dong has so many great restaurants that it's easy to get stuck deciding where to go. If you're looking for somewhere with a nice atmosphere and delicious pasta, I'd recommend Hey Joji 💛
The cozy, American-family-home-style interior paired with genuinely good food makes it a great date spot!! (My boyfriend loved it, haha.) It's a nice place to chat over a meal with your partner, and afterward you can stroll the Yeonnam-dong alleys or stop by a pretty café 😊

If you're looking for a can't-go-wrong restaurant, this is a pasta spot I'd definitely recommend for a Yeonnam-dong date course! If you're hunting for a Yeonnam-dong restaurant with a great atmosphere or good pasta, keep Hey Joji in mind haha.
Oh, and one more thing!! It's a participating restaurant in the 2026 Delicious Food Map event, so there's an event going on too!!! Definitely worth knowing about!! Keep it in mind when you visit haha. I had such a happy meal enjoying all three dishes ❤️
