Burger sets with pollock roe mayo near Yonsei University: Bas Burger

I'm Mimi, an office worker in Sinchon. Today I went to Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch, a Sinchon-area burger restaurant near Yonsei University.

Where is Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch and how do you find it?

This Sinchon favorite is on the basement level of Severance Hospital's Yonsei Cancer Hospital, though from outside it feels like ground level. Let me show you the easy way to get there.

Go in through this revolving door circled in red next to Starbucks —

and it's right there on your right as soon as you walk in.

The location is amazing. It's right beside Yonsei University's main gate and near the front of Severance Hospital, so it's an easy walk from pretty much anywhere. A delicious handmade burger spot in Sinchon!

Inside Bas Burger Yonsei Cancer Hospital Branch: seating and space

Inside it has that classic foreign-style burger joint feel, with two-person tables,

and tables you can push together for a bigger group.

The space is spacious with plenty of tables — really nice.

Bas Burger menu, morning menu hours and kiosk ordering

This is Bas Burger, a delicious burger spot in Sinchon.

They have all kinds of burgers, sides, drinks, and a morning menu that's great for breakfast. From opening until 10:30 AM you can get a morning burger with warm soup.

You order at a kiosk — there's one outside,

and two more inside.

Free chips self-bar and the 5 free sauces at Bas Burger

Now for my favorite part of Bas Burger!!

There are chips set up right in the middle of the dining hall,

and dine-in customers can eat them for free. Free, and genuinely delicious — I kept going back for more. Takeout customers pay ₩2,500.

The chips are kept warm on a heated warmer,

and there's ketchup, mustard, and even pepper set up right next to them. Sprinkle on some pepper — it's even better!!

And one more thing! If you go to the counter, customers who order a set or anything fried get 5 kinds of free sauce!

• Free sauces: Bas Burger house sauce, jeotgal mayo (seasoned pollock roe mayo), BBQ, ranch, honey mustard
• Paid: kkwari gochu (shishito pepper) red mayo dip, truffle mayo dip

I ordered a set, so I grabbed two extra sauces — the Bas Burger jeotgal mayo and the Bas Burger sauce!

How do the Bas Burger set and chicken burger set taste?

Since I was at Bas Burger, I went with the most classic and best menu item — the Bas Burger set — while my husband ordered the chicken burger set.

We ordered, got a buzzer, and while snacking on chips, our delicious burgers arrived — ta-da!

Tasty burger, fries, and a drink — great value for a set menu.

My husband's chicken burger had a thick, crispy chicken patty that was delicious, and the vegetables inside were fresh.

And here's my Bas Burger.

A solid, well-made classic burger. The tasty sauce combined with fresh vegetables, tangy tomato, and good onions for great flavor.

Pollock roe mayo (myeongnan mayo) with the fries: the best pairing

Then I squeezed out the sauces I'd grabbed earlier onto the tray —

and ate them with the fries — the sauce is seriously, seriously special and delicious.

You really, really need to grab these sauces for the full experience. The jeotgal mayo sauce was so, so good!

Maybe because they're fried in clean oil, the fries had a clean color and tasted great too.
