Shabu20 is famous as a good restaurant near Daegu Airport, and I used to visit often for family meals — this time it had been a while since I went just with my mom for shabu-shabu! Here's the review :)
Parking and hall size at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch
Parking at Shabu20 is convenient — there's a spacious lot that fits 30-plus cars in front, back, and to the side! And a 2-minute walk away, there's also a public lot under Gonghang Bridge with room for about 100 cars on each side, so keep that in mind too! The generous parking really makes this a stress-free choice for family dining.
The inside of the restaurant was genuinely huge — it can seat up to about 190 people! There's plenty of seating on both sides of the self-bar counter, so getting food wasn't inconvenient at all.
How ordering works at Shabu20 and which broths to pick

Shabu20 splits into a lunch course (₩22,900) and a dinner course (₩26,900), with slightly different time limits of 80 and 100 minutes. For broth, there's the Original lineup — katsuobushi, soybean, spicy — and the Special lineup — sukiyaki, hot pot. We visited on a weekday evening and ordered the dinner course with Original broth (katsuobushi, spicy). Staff bring the broth to your table, but everything else — vegetables, rice paper wraps, etc. — you grab yourself from the self-bar!

With five broth options total and the ability to pick two, this place is such great value... If you want a safe, solid choice, I'd recommend going with katsuobushi and spicy broth!
What is on the self-bar at Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch?

Shabu20 Daegu Bokhyeon branch is divided into a meat section, salad bar, vegetable garden, rice paper wrap corner, meal corner, water station, and dessert corner.

The vegetable garden and rice paper wrap vegetable corner were bursting with freshness, packed with vegetables that go perfectly with shabu-shabu — every ingredient looked fresh, so it was easy to just keep piling my plate!
And the most important part — the meat corner~! Fresh, good-quality cuts filled the counter, so just looking at it felt satisfying haha. I'm a hardcore beef person, so I loaded up mainly on beef, but the pork next to it looked really fresh too!

Best of all, Shabu20 also offers unlimited draft beer! Freshly poured cold draft beer with shabu-shabu is just the best combo haha.

Sauces and toppings matter a lot for shabu-shabu, and Shabu20 has such a wide variety it's fun just picking! From peanut sauce, spicy chili, soy sauce, and sesame sauce to tangy yuzu ponzu and pungent garlic oil sauce — perfect for mixing to your taste~

There's also a meal corner and salad bar besides that. It's not well shown in the photos, but this place is famous for its dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken) — everyone in my family agrees on that... Since it had been a while since my last visit, I noticed new items I hadn't seen before — cream pasta and pad thai! There's already so much to eat here before the real shabu-shabu even starts, I was full already,,

The 100-minute dinner course at 26,900 won: dinner with my mother
- 100-minute dinner course ₩26,900
With the table set full of fresh vegetables and meat, the real eating began haha. You dip the meat in the broth to cook it lightly, and the quality was so good it came out soft and delicious. We could easily refill the broth along the way too, so we kept enjoying it right to the end.

My favorite combo is definitely wrapping vegetables in the rice paper~~

Even when I'm already full, I can't skip the essential shabu-shabu finale — kalguksu (knife-cut noodles). The noodles we brought over to finish the meal were thick and delicious. The broth soaked right into the noodles, chewy and tasty.

Affogato at the dessert corner and a parting gift from Shabu20
After finishing the shabu-shabu feast stuffed to the brim, we finally moved over to the dessert corner haha.

There's even an espresso machine and ice cream~! Add ice cream to your espresso and you can make your own affogato!
As we were paying and heading out, the owner kindly offered us takeaway cups to pack more drinks or ice cream to go — so sweet of them,,,♥ But we'd eaten so much already, we had to pass, ha.
Fresh vegetables and meat, unlimited draft beer, generous desserts, and warm service on top of it all~! I'd recommend this place for family meals or group gatherings in Bokhyeon-dong, Daegu~
