In short
Hey Joji is an American home-style restaurant on Donggyo-ro 46-gil in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul. Two plates arrived, a duck steak cream risotto with a spicy, thick cream sauce and chewy rice grains, and a chicken tender Caesar salad with tenders for dipping in the Caesar dressing. I was looking for somewhere to have dinner in Yeonnam-dong and found this cozy, pretty spot. I loved the vibe, and the food turned out to be amazing too — definitely coming back!
There are so many pretty cafés and restaurants in Yeonnam-dong, but I haven't seen another place with atmosphere quite like Hey Joji.

What kind of restaurant is Hey Joji in Yeonnam-dong?
Hey Joji is an American home-style restaurant in Yeonnam-dong, and the exotic atmosphere and interior are really striking. It feels like a quick trip abroad, and also relaxing enough to be healing — great for a mood reset.
A restaurant with an exotic atmosphere in Yeonnam-dong
Hey Joji fits perfectly with the distinctive feel of Yeonnam-dong while still standing out on its own — I kept glancing at it just walking by. Looking at the menu, there were so many dishes that looked delicious, and the date-friendly atmosphere meant lots of couples and parents with their kids were dining there.

Great place to go with a friend and take tons of photos for a new profile pic. Also a solid bet for a Yeonnam-dong date! These days there are so many good restaurants around that great taste alone doesn't always leave a lasting impression.

So it's nice to have a little event-like moment in an otherwise ordinary day. The staff at Hey Joji are also friendly, so it's easy to relax and enjoy your time there.
Why the duck steak cream risotto and chicken tender Caesar salad work as a pair
Duck steak cream risotto, chicken tender Caesar salad

What I ordered at Hey Joji was the duck steak cream risotto and the chicken tender Caesar salad. There were so many tempting options I had to think it over for a while, but in the end, I was very satisfied!

How does Hey Joji's duck steak cream risotto taste?
The duck steak cream risotto comes with a spicy, thick cream sauce over rice with a surprisingly interesting texture — slightly crunchy yet chewy and springy.
Honestly, that rice grain texture is one of a kind and impossible to imitate — so tasty and appealing that I really recommend trying it.
There's also a generous amount of duck meat on top.
The meat is moist and tender, and it pairs perfectly with the rice — I really enjoyed it.

Eating the creamy rice together with the slightly salty duck gives it just the right seasoning, and the texture combo is insane.
How to eat the chicken tender Caesar salad
Pairing the duck steak cream risotto with the chicken tender Caesar salad creates a perfect balance.
The salad comes with big, fresh leaves, and since they give you a knife, you can just cut it into bite-sized pieces as you eat.
Dipping the small-cut chicken tenders generously in the Caesar sauce makes for a clean, refreshing bite.
The salad already has chicken tenders in it, so it's satisfying on its own, but it goes so well with the risotto that I'd totally recommend having both together!

Everything else on the menu looks delicious too, but if you're not sure what to order, I'd recommend the duck steak cream risotto and chicken tender Caesar salad.

The soft, savory, creamy risotto paired with the refreshing salad made for a really filling meal.

The pretty interior, exotic atmosphere, appetizing plating, delicious food, and the friendly staff all combine to leave a lasting good memory.
