Gukbap and seolleongtang in Hwajeong-dong with parking: Pyeongando
In short
Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch is a 24-hour gukbap (rice-and-soup) restaurant in Hwajeong-dong, Goyang, directly across from Deogyang District Office. On the way to IKEA, the writer parked at the district office, walked over, and ordered spicy boneless pork gukbap and the premium seolleongtang (ox bone soup), plus the self-serve sundae (blood sausage) refill bar that runs in two daily windows. For a hot bowl of soup in Hwajeong-dong at any hour, Pyeongando Restaurant is worth saving.

I was looking for a gukbap place to eat a solid lunch before Gamja and I headed to IKEA Goyang, and that's how I found this spot! It's right in front of Deogyang District Office, so the accessibility was amazing — and it turned out to be one I'd definitely want to revisit. Let me introduce Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch (평안도식당 화정점) right away! (Open 24 hours, every single day,,!!)

Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch ✅️ Location: 24 Hwajung-ro 104beon-gil, 1st floor, Unit 108, Deogyang-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do ✅️ Hours: Open 24 hours, every day of the year! Group seating available, takeout, delivery, wifi, reservations, high chairs, pet-friendly, corkage allowed, and free parking guidance!
Where to park: Deogyang District Office, then a short walk to Pyeongando Restaurant
If you're coming by car, I recommend parking at Deogyang District Office and walking over! It's directly across the street, so we parked there easily too, and the 1-hour turnover window gave us plenty of time haha.

It's very close to Hwajeong Station and Deogyang District Office, so it seemed like a lot of nearby office workers come here, and the restaurant is spacious so tables turn over well even when it's busy — no worries about seating!

Pyeongando Restaurant menu and the review event
The menu is varied, and best of all, they offer all-you-can-eat sundae (blood sausage) during morning and evening time slots, which big eaters will absolutely love haha.

For the review event, solo diners get a mini yakgwa (honey cookie), and if two people write reviews, you get soju or beer, or galbi mandu (rib dumplings)! If it were me, I'd write the review just to get the galbi mandu,,>_<
There's salted shrimp and dadegi (chili paste seasoning) at every table so you can adjust the seasoning yourself — really nice!

The menu ranges pretty widely, from sundae and pyeonyuk (sliced boiled meat) set menus to full meals and cooked dishes!
Ordered: spicy boneless pork gukbap, premium seolleongtang
Since Gamja was in the mood for a drink after a while and I wanted something light, we each ordered something different! Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch has sundaeguk (blood sausage soup) of course, but also a wide range of other gukbap dishes, so there's plenty to choose from haha. It's really nice that even people who don't like sundaeguk have options here!

The self-serve bar lets you refill side dishes too, and everything is neatly covered, which felt hygienic haha. And most importantly — all-you-can-eat sundae,,? Can't pass that up.

Right after ordering, they brought out the classic gukbap companions — kimchi, kkakdugi (radish kimchi), chives, and onion with chili peppers! You could already smell the good-gukbap-restaurant vibes, couldn't you,,
Spicy boneless pork gukbap

The gukbap came out not long after ordering! It arrives in a ttukbaegi (stone pot), and soups served this piping hot are rare, honestly,,

The gukbap was loaded with plenty of meat, so it felt very filling!! Since it's a 24-hour place, this is exactly the kind of look and taste that would have you craving another shot of soju even while getting over a hangover in the morning! You know adding extra chives is non-negotiable, right?
Spicy and right up Gamja's alley — the spicy boneless pork gukbap nailed it! Adding salted shrimp brings out even more savoriness, so you can enjoy it even more haha.
Premium seolleongtang (ox bone soup)

The premium seolleongtang I ordered! I expected maybe two or three chunks of meat, but the value was insane,, the portion was generous, plus plenty of brisket and glass noodles, so good,,ㅜㅜ

Before eating, since I was on driving duty, I toasted with cola while Gamja had a drink haha.

The rib soup had a clean, clear broth that was easy to eat without feeling heavy, and I was surprised at how easily the meat came off the bone!

The first bite is best eaten with rice that hasn't been dipped in the soup yet,, (a tasting tip from the Doctor of Slurping)
What time is the unlimited sundae self-bar?

This self-bar left the biggest impression on me! We even skipped ordering sundaeguk so we could get our money's worth from the all-you-can-eat sundae,,
11:30am–2pm / 5:30pm–8pm
Visit during these hours and the sundae is unlimited! These happen to line up right with office workers' lunch and dinner times, and the window is generous, so it's a real perk haha.
You can also enjoy the sundae with ssamjang (dipping sauce) or salt to your taste, so I definitely recommend it! If you're looking for a good gukbap restaurant in Hwajeong-dong, save Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch now!!

You know how you just won't go back to a gukbap place if the kimchi isn't good! Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch serves kimchi made in-house from domestic ingredients, and topping meat with it just made everything disappear,,>_<

Gamja mixed rice into the soup right away for round two!

Sundae wrapped in onion is also a great combo! Gamja said he'd only drink half a bottle but ended up finishing almost all of it because it was so good,,ㅋㅋ
A 24-hour Hwajeong-dong gukbap spot for solo meals and group dinners
This is a great place to visit in Hwajeong-dong for a work dinner, a gathering, or just to cure a hangover! We came for lunch, but I thought I'd definitely come back late at night when craving hot soup after evening hours too!

Food comes out quickly, so it's great for office workers eating on the go, and I saw a lot of solo diners too — there are plenty of single seats, so you can eat alone comfortably without feeling self-conscious haha. Especially if you're looking for a good gukbap restaurant in Hwajeong-dong, I recommend putting Pyeongando Restaurant Hwajeong Branch on your list haha. I'll be back next time with another local favorite ♡
