Goyang hanjeongsik with group seating and parking: Kim Myeongju
In short
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch is a hanjeongsik (Korean set-meal) restaurant near Wondang Station in Goyang, Gyeonggi. The Tteuranchae Bapsang set for two plus ganjang gejang (soy-marinated raw crab) came with stone-pot rice and 12 healthy side dishes, free refills at the self-serve bar, and extra japchae and cheonggukjang whenever you ask the staff. Hi everyone! Chuseok is coming up soon haha, hope you all have a fun and happy holiday~ This place would also be great to bring your parents to for Chuseok!!

How big is the restaurant, is there group seating, and is there a wait?
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch was way bigger than I expected, with lots of group seating! There can be a wait on weekends or at dinnertime, but apparently you can reserve through Catch Table haha — clearly a well-known spot.

What is on the menu at Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang?
There's the Tteuranchae Bapsang set and the jeongsik. If you go with the Tteuranchae Bapsang, you have to order it for everyone at the table!

What you can refill at the self-serve bar
The best part here is that you can help yourself to as many side dishes as you want! Personally, the braised potatoes and fried eggplant were amazing.

Rice is unlimited too, and there's a big bowl, gochujang (chili paste), and sesame oil ready to go so you can make your own bibimbap.

Japchae and cheonggukjang can be refilled too — just ask a staff member for more of these two!!
Tteuranchae Bapsang set for two with ganjang gejang: how it tasted
I ordered the Tteuranchae Bapsang set for two and the ganjang gejang.

The Tteuranchae Bapsang comes standard with stone-pot rice, cheonggukjang, and 12 kinds of side dishes. Braised potatoes, four types of namul (seasoned vegetables), kimchi, fried eggplant, lettuce wraps, peppers, japchae, and more — a genuinely generous full Korean spread.

The nutty, savory cheonggukjang
The cheonggukjang that came with it especially!!! Super savory and packed with ingredients, it was delicious. I mixed the tofu and broth into my rice and demolished a whole bowl in no time. And this delicious cheonggukjang is refillable too... owner, you're the best.

The main dish: ganjang gejang, soy-marinated raw crab
The main event, ganjang gejang, finally arrived! Salty with a subtle sweetness rising underneath — it really lived up to being a "rice thief." The crab meat was moist and soft, melting in your mouth!

The soy sauce wasn't too salty and had deep umami that paired really well with the crab meat. One bite of the meat and you get this rich, nutty, sweetish crab flavor, and the portion was genuinely huge for the price haha. Other places tend to give you less gejang, so I really appreciated how generous the portion was here.

Who should eat at Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang in Goyang?
Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang was a place that suited eating a proper, satisfying meal with neat side dishes and warm rice, rather than flashy food.

With a wide variety of refillable side dishes, it's easy to eat generously, and the tables are on the roomy side, so it looked good for family outings or dining with parents too.
If you're near Wondang Station looking for a clean hanjeongsik or a home-cooked-style meal, this is worth a visit! I left Kim Myeongju Tteuranchae Bapsang Wondang Station Branch with a solid, filling meal.

If you're going around Chuseok, make sure to check the closure dates first!! Highly recommend if you're looking for a good Korean restaurant near Wondang (՞•֊•՞)
