Exterior and interior atmosphere of this Bucheon Jung-dong jjamppong restaurant

Jjambbong Jijon Bucheon Jung-dong Branch is about a 7-minute walk from Exit 1 of Bucheon City Hall Station. The phrase "We'll make even a single bowl of jjamppong like a masterpiece" really catches your eye!

Stepping inside, the restaurant felt very large and spacious, which made it feel comfortable. There's a kiosk on every table too, so ordering was simple and convenient.

There are also seasonings on every table so you can adjust the flavor to your taste! If you join the Naver receipt review event, you can get a drink or 5 fried mandu, so that's worth doing too.
Ordering sujebi jjamppong, large jjajangmyeon, and sweet rice tangsuyuk

For the menu, I ordered a large jjajangmyeon, sujebi jjamppong, and sweet rice tangsuyuk.

What does the sujebi jjamppong broth taste like?
Sujebi jjamppong is jjamppong made with sujebi (hand-torn dough dumplings) instead of noodles. The rich bone-based broth combines with the chewy, thick sujebi to give a texture quite different from noodle jjamppong. Take a sip of the broth and the spicy, sharp flavor rises up, finishing refreshingly clean. The distinctive chewy bite of the sujebi pairs so well with the broth that you can't stop eating.
Since it's a bone-based broth, you get more of a rich meat-broth flavor than a briny seafood flavor, which I personally liked even more.

How big is the large jjajangmyeon portion?
The jjajang sauce isn't overly sweet and has a deep, savory flavor. There's plenty of toppings, and the noodles are boiled to a chewy texture that soaks up the jjajang sauce well. And what surprised me was that the large portion was really huge. Honestly, at a lot of Chinese restaurants these days, you have to order the large size just to get what feels like one normal serving, but at Jjambbong Jijon every dish came in a generous portion.

Sweet rice tangsuyuk and fried mandu
The sweet rice tangsuyuk has a chewiness that's really excellent. The fried coating is thick, and when you bite into it you get that distinctive chewy sweet-rice texture. It doesn't go soggy quickly even after time passes, so it stays somewhat crispy even with sauce poured over it. The sauce isn't so much sweet as it is tangy — a clear-style tangsuyuk sauce.

And of course, no Chinese restaurant visit is complete without fried mandu! The outside was very crispy, which I loved. The flavor isn't spicy, just slightly kick, so it's a taste anyone — any age or gender — would like.

Unlimited rice self-serve bar and final thoughts
At first I worried the portions were so big I wouldn't be able to finish, but I cleaned my plates completely. If you love a rich, thick jjamppong broth, you'll especially love this place. There are also lots of tables and plenty of space, so I think it's a great spot to go with family too.
I was too full to actually use it, but you can grab unlimited rice from the self-serve bar. It's there for whenever you want to mix rice into your jjamppong broth or add extra rice to your jjajang, no need to hold back. Side dishes and pickled radish are also prepared alongside it.
