Milk bread and drink at Easy White Bread Bucheon Sinjung-dong
Packaged milk bread from Easy White Bread

Thinking of my mom, who loves bread, I headed to Easy White Bread Bucheon Sinjung-dong, a well-known bakery near Sinjung-dong in Bucheon 🍞✨. I went in expecting a totally different league from the cheap sliced-bread brands, and I came back more than satisfied — let me tell you about it.

5 reasons you absolutely have to visit

  • Custom hand-cutting service: pick the thickness you want (1.5cm, 2.0cm, 2.5cm) and a staff member slices it neatly right in front of you — fun to watch and reassuring too.
  • Premium drinks with real fresh strawberries: not just syrup — they actually blend real fresh strawberries, giving a refreshing, smooth, and luxurious flavor you don't usually get.
  • A texture like a baby's bottom, all soft and squishy: no comparison to regular cheap bread brands! The crumb is dense and the texture under your fingers is so pillowy that any bread lover will fall for it instantly.
  • A variety of pairings: enjoy various handmade butter jams and blueberry cream cheese made in-house, all starting from an affordable ₩1,500.
  • High-quality gift packaging: comes in an elegant dedicated box tied with a name tag — perfect for giving to your mom or a friend as a gift.

Walking through the alleys near Sinjung-dong Station, the cozy yet clean modern exterior catches your eye.

This premium milk bread bakery café was launched by Bon If — apparently the milk bread line, once a signature item at Easy Brewing Coffee, was spun off as its own dedicated brand. Under the philosophy that the best bread starts with the best ingredients, they say they use only top-tier materials like AOP-certified French butter and fresh dairy cream.

Atmosphere and seating

Stepping inside, the modern gray stone-textured wall has the logo elegantly carved into its center. There's a round table area where you can enjoy the bread. Even though it's a milk bread specialty shop, there are about three tables indoors — a nice spot for a bit of chat or a rest.

I saw loaves that looked like a baby's bottom — these were the premium milk bread baked fresh every day.

How to enjoy and store milk bread

Tips to maximize the flavor of milk bread 💡 Eat the same day: this is preservative-free premium milk bread, so it's most moist when torn by hand along the grain and eaten the day you buy it Freeze in portions: rather than leaving leftover bread out at room temperature for long, divide it into single servings, place in bags or airtight containers, and freeze right away Air fryer / oven method (crispy outside, moist inside): thaw frozen bread naturally, then lightly toast in an air fryer or oven at 180°C for 3–4 minutes Microwave method (moist and fluffy texture): for a warm, soft texture, cover loosely with plastic wrap and microwave for just 15–20 seconds for a just-baked feel Pair with handmade cream cheese & jam

Bread thickness cutting guide model

A cutting guide for choosing your thickness

By the counter there's a 'cutting guide' model that lets you see and choose your preferred bread thickness with your own eyes. It's broken down into 1.5cm (for sandwiches, standard), 2.0cm (ideal for enjoying the natural flavor of the milk bread), and 2.5cm (for toast or dip spreads) — a thoughtful system that lets you request a custom cut based on your taste. Beside and below the guide, the display case is neatly set up with various handmade cream cheeses and jams meant to pair with the bread, which is fun to look at too.

In front of the counter is a menu board that's easy to read at a glance.

Besides the coffee menu, there are various non-coffee drinks great for enjoying with kids, listed with detailed descriptions that make it easy to pick something to your taste.

₩1,500 handmade cream cheese and jam

Inside the clear display case, portioned cream cheeses — plain, fig, blueberry — and premium jams in glass jars are neatly arranged. On top, cups of affordably priced ₩1,500 plain cream cheese, blueberry cream cheese, and melon milk cream (for sando use) are stacked up.

In the lower glass jars, handmade strawberry butter jam, blueberry butter jam, and apple mango milk cream (for sando use) made in-house are lined up neatly. Thanks to the hygienically well-managed display case, I really wanted to buy them along with the bread ^^

What about the gift packaging?

On the shelf above the counter, elegant white gift boxes are displayed in a row. With their handles and clean curved design, the packaging looks perfect for wrapping up bread as a gift for friends or family.

Next time I want to try buying a whole loaf ^^

Checking the texture first with a sample tray

Near the counter, a tasting tray is set up so customers can feel the texture of the bread before buying. It's covered with a clear hygienic lid to keep out dust, and the small wooden tray holds bite-sized pieces of milk bread — a thoughtful touch from the shop.

When I picked up a piece of the sample bread, it felt incredibly soft and fluffy to the touch. Looking closely at the cross-section, the air pockets are packed tightly and evenly, showing off the moisture and chewy texture unique to milk bread. It even had great resilience — bouncing back quickly after being lightly pressed.

One of the biggest strengths of this place is that once you order, a staff member slices the bread cleanly right in front of you. Wearing sanitary gloves the whole time, they precisely slice to your requested thickness (1.5cm, 2cm, 2.5cm, etc.) using dedicated equipment and a knife. Watching the bread get sliced cleanly right before your eyes is both reassuring and fun to watch.

Up top, the sobo chestnut rice cake milk bread topped generously with golden, crispy crumble catches the eye, while below, neat, smooth rectangular loaves of the basic milk bread are stacked up. The savory bread smell fills the whole shop, stirring up your appetite.

A strawberry frappe made with real fresh strawberries

In the kitchen area toward the back, the racks for cooling bread and clean drink-making equipment are perfectly organized. While waiting for my drink, I got to watch them add plenty of real fresh strawberries and blend them right in front of me.

The finished strawberry frappe had none of that artificial sweetness — just the real tartness and sweetness of fresh strawberries, with a really smooth, luxurious flavor. It was every bit as good as a premium café drink, and I couldn't help but be impressed!

What I packed up as a snack for mom

I took home the olive cheese milk bread and golden beurre milk bread I bought, along with the blueberry cream cheese, all nicely packed.

While I was at the shop, I noticed a steady stream of newlywed couples and families with young kids coming in. I'd wondered, 'Would a milk bread specialty shop really draw that many customers?' — but seeing it in person, it was clearly popular enough that people kept lining up.

The owner and staff were so friendly the whole time, which made the visit even more pleasant, and I really appreciated the service of slicing the bread to my preferred thickness right in front of me. With delicious milk bread and a smooth, luxurious strawberry frappe made from real fresh strawberries, this is a bakery I'd strongly recommend to anyone near Sinjung-dong Station in Bucheon looking to enjoy bread and a drink together.
