Last week, I happened to stop by Menya Seoul after going to Yongsan IMAX, and it was so good that I kept thinking about it! Then I realized there was a Menya Seoul near my home too, so I rushed right out... hahaha. There it was on B1 of Lotte Department Store...! Even though I went a little after lunchtime, it was still bustling.

Ramen menu with your choice of broth and meat

The menu basically lets you choose a mild, spicy, or mala broth and add the meat you want. There is no meatless ramen! Eat lots of meat, haha. There are three kinds—dongpo pork, jambon, and lamb skewers—and here's one little tip: if you order the dongpo pork, you get jambon... hahahaha. Last time I tried the mild dongpo pork chashu ramen and it was sooo delicious, so I was going to order it again without fail, but I got something else this time. I'll show you the menu in a bit!

I even brought over the full menu for you >.< They also have summer dishes, so how could I not try one?.?

Ordering the summer whole pork belly mazesoba

Whole pork belly mazesoba (sauce-mixed noodles) and cold ramen are the summer dishes! As the name says, it comes topped with a whole piece of pork belly, so it sounded hearty and full of umami. I ordered the whole pork belly mazesoba!

Bar-style seats that were great for solo dining

Waiting while seated..! It is a full restaurant, but the bar-style seating made it really great for eating alone! Oh, and I didn't get to try sprinkling on the kombu vinegar or rayu chili oil here, but the food is already seriously tasty as is. Maybe people had used up lots of it at lunchtime. Next time, I have to try some~.~

Mazesoba and sweet soy sauce chicken rice bowl set

A single dish didn't seem like it would satisfy my hunger, so I went with the set that included mazesoba and a sweet soy sauce chicken rice bowl (small). It looks absolutely perfect for lunch, right? Hehe!

Crunchy pickled radish and something tasty that I assume was kimchi came as the side dishes!

Tangy, umami-rich whole pork belly mazesoba

This is the new summer whole pork belly mazesoba. The visuals alone totally grabbed my attention.. I was so excited to see how delicious it would be that I almost forgot to take photos... haha.

Compared with the mazesoba I usually eat, this one felt much tangier, and it had loads of umami too. In particular, that whole pork belly had a smoky char-grilled aroma, so it went perfectly with the noodles. So good! It is just the thing for a bowl when you have no appetite.

Sweet soy sauce chicken rice bowl loaded with karaage

Next up is the sweet soy sauce chicken rice bowl :) I thought it would be more like chicken mayo, but should I say that it had much more karaage (Japanese fried chicken)? The combination of chopped pickled radish and soy sauce cut right through any richness, so I scraped the bowl clean... It seemed like something kids would enjoy too!
