A duck restaurant near Starfield in Bucheon's Okgil-dong

Last weekend we went out and got a craving for something healthy, so we stopped by Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch, a duck restaurant specializing in Okgil-dong, Bucheon. Instead of the usual spicy stir-fried duck or grilled duck, this place serves unusual, healthy duck course dishes like duck hot pot and duck cypress-wood steam — my husband, kids, and I all gave it a thumbs up :)

Parking is always the biggest worry when picking a restaurant for a family gathering or group meet-up. Keunsawi Ori Jip, a well-known spot near Starfield in Bucheon's Okgil-dong, has plenty of parking right out front, so bringing parents along or coordinating multiple cars is stress-free :)
What's the atmosphere inside like?
The interior is clean and pleasant. The space is spacious with bright, overall lighting, making it a solid choice for a family meal with parents, a weekend get-together with friends, or even a work dinner.

When the menu is overwhelming, go for the Keunsawi Deluxe Set
Keunsawi Ori Jip in Okgil-dong, Bucheon offers a wide range of duck dishes to choose from. We kept going back and forth, so we ended up ordering the Keunsawi Deluxe Set, a hearty combo with duck hot pot, duck cypress-wood steam, perilla soup, vegetable and rice cake add-ins, and tricolor fried rice. If you're stuck deciding like we were, I highly recommend the set menu :)

Why it's great with kids: free duck seaweed soup, unlimited gondre rice, and a traditional play yard
Choosing what to order for kids at a restaurant is always tricky, but Keunsawi Ori Jip's owner really thought this through. Preschoolers under 8 get free unlimited duck seaweed soup (miyeokguk) without having to order a separate menu item! There's also unlimited refill gondre rice (dried aster rice) at the self-bar, so the kids polished off a whole bowl just by mixing rice with the seaweed soup.
And out front, there's a small traditional play yard! With games like jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking) and ddakjichigi (Korean paper flip game), the kids had plenty of room to run around, and it was so nice to see them playing happily instead of staring at their phones after the meal :) It's the perfect setup where both kids and parents can eat comfortably.
Clean, mild duck cypress-wood steam
We started with the duck cypress-wood steam, which carried a subtle cypress aroma. The fat had rendered off completely, leaving the meat savory and really tender. Duck can get a strong gamey smell if not cooked well, but thanks to the cypress wood, there was none of that — just a clean, mild flavor. It's a dish older family members would especially enjoy.

A taste of the perilla soup
The perilla soup (deulkkaetang) included in the set was pure savory comfort, rounding out the course perfectly. Once the kids got a portion of tender duck with the nutty perilla broth, they scraped the bowl clean saying it was delicious.
Rich duck hot pot and tricolor fried rice
The duck hot pot, made with a broth of 19 ingredients, starts off spicy and deep-flavored, but as it simmers down, the seasoning soaks into the duck meat, giving it a much richer, deeper flavor than stir-fried duck! Mixing the broth into the nutty gondre rice makes it completely irresistible.
By the end we were sure we couldn't handle the fried rice, but once it was ready, it was so good it went down easily. Big eaters will be 200% satisfied with the portion.

Side dish: acorn jelly pancake + salad
The acorn jelly pancake (dotorimukjeon) we ordered as a side is another strong recommendation! It comes with a refreshing salad — the dressing was tasty, and the pancake itself was chewy and savory, so the kids ate it up too. It let me sneak in some vegetables without a fight, which felt like a win as a mom :)

Domestic duck and sesame oil from the local mill
Keunsawi Ori Jip in Bucheon's Okgil-dong uses only domestic duck as a rule, and even the sesame oil used in the dishes and the gondre rice is pressed at a local sesame mill rather than store-bought. You can taste the care put into every single ingredient — a genuinely healthy restaurant.
If you're looking for a place in Bucheon's Okgil-dong to treat your parents, have a weekend family meal, or host a group gathering, I highly recommend Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch! Easy parking, plus food and play options for the kids — we're already planning to bring the parents back soon!
