Incheon hair salon for a thick hippie perm on long hair: Naple Hair

In short

Naple Hair Juan Seokbawi Intersection Branch is a hair salon in Michuhol, Incheon, on the 3rd floor of the Paris Baguette building in front of Exit 3 of Seokbawi Market Station on Incheon Subway Line 2. After years of only layered cuts and CS curl perms, the writer tried a thick hippie perm for the first time on chest-length hair, finished in about 2 hours 30 minutes for around 150,000 won including the cut. The curl thickness and placement came out exactly as asked for, so a return visit to Naple Hair is planned.

A real review of a total success with my first-ever hippie perm at Naple Hair Juan Seokbawi Intersection Branch! I'd only ever done layered cuts and CS curl perms before, so this was my first try at a hippie perm — and I loved it so much I'm genuinely recommending this place.

With a trip back to my hometown coming up soon (meaning: I'm heading to Chiang Mai), I wanted to switch up my look. I'd always gone for the medium-length, subtle-wave-at-the-ends 'office lady' style, but this time I wanted something that looked a bit younger and more playful — so I went with a thick hippie perm!

It's right next to the salon, maybe a 1-minute walk. Parking is usually tough in this neighborhood, but the lot is huge so don't worry.

Coming out of the parking lot, turn left and head straight toward Paris Baguette. It's right on the main road, so super easy to find.

If you're taking public transit, there's a bus stop literally right in front of the salon, and the Seokbawi Market subway station is also really close, so just use whichever's convenient.

Green hair salon sign above the Paris Baguette building

Once you spot the green-on-green sign above the Paris Baguette building, you've found it! Go up the stairs under the green sign that says 'We do hair.'

The staircase up is pretty cute too... they even keep umbrellas on hand for rainy days. There's also a nice mirror-shot spot set up.

What the Naple Hair salon looks like inside

Spacious, bright, and nature-friendly with plants dotted here and there!

It seems to have just opened this second half of the year, and it really shows — everything's brand new and the interior is clean and calming. The space is used generously and it's so green it feels like nature, almost healing. A lot of salons feel chaotic and cramped, but here I just felt totally at ease.

The floors were spotless too — someone's clearly cleaning hard, haha.

Neatly kept salon floor and treatment seat

Even the lockers, chairs, and mirrors are clean and natural-feeling.

It's basically floor-to-ceiling windows so the light comes in beautifully — great for photos too, haha, which isn't easy at a salon, you know?

I didn't even notice it at first since it's hidden behind a low wall, but there's a shampoo area too. Great privacy — didn't feel self-conscious about people passing by at all, very comfortable. Clearly a lot of thought went into the interior in every way. That chair was comfy too, haha.

Did the hippie perm smell of chemicals?

Usually the moment you walk into a salon you get hit with that chemical dye smell, right? But Naple Hair Juan Seokbawi Intersection Branch had none of that — it actually smelled nice. Genuinely, during the whole treatment there was zero harsh smell, super comfortable. Maybe because they use eco-friendly products?

And usually after a perm the smell lingers for days, even when you're sleeping — but this time the smell didn't bother me at all, which was great. The hair products Naple Hair uses are from the eco-friendly global brand Davines, apparently. You can buy them at 20% off at any Naple Hair branch. I wanted to buy some right after my shampoo, lol.

From jelly perm to hippie perm: the consultation at Naple Hair

I mentioned when booking that I was thinking of a jelly perm, but they don't just jump straight into the service! First comes a thorough consultation. I sat in front of a bright window and talked it through with the head designer.

I told her I was considering either a jelly perm or a thick hippie perm. But she explained that jelly perms are tricky to maintain — you have to actively shape the curls while drying your hair — so I gave that up right away, lol. Instead she recommended a hippie perm, which is super low-maintenance and holds its natural curl really well. Since she knew I wanted thick curls, she even pulled up reference photos to explain.

We decided to go with this look... She also asked about my previous treatments and compared them for me. She was so kind and thorough in her explanations that I was genuinely touched. She really worked with my preferences while also giving great recommendations — loved it.

There's a variety of drinks to choose from too. Seeing the notice that says you can get a free redo if you're unsatisfied within 7 days made me feel their honesty and confidence. Also worth noting — lots of discounts for reservations, Naver reviews, and weekday morning visits!

How much does a thick hippie perm cost at Naple Hair?

Unlike those places that only tell you the price after everything's done — not naming names — Naple Hair tells you the full final price right at the consultation stage!

Price list for services at Naple Hair Juan Seokbawi Intersection Branch

The price is honestly so reasonable. Cut included, and with all the discounts stacked on, it felt genuinely cheap. Hippie perms these days usually start around ₩200,000, but even with my long hair (chest-length) and good-quality products, it came out to about ₩150,000. Seriously great value.

Don't forget the 40% first-visit coupon!

The perm process and how long it took

Long hair before treatment with curl left only at the ends
Split ends visible before the hippie perm

It had been months since my last CS curl perm, so only the ends still had any curl left, and it had gotten unruly since I'd just let it grow out — ends were all split. First they did the cut. To suit the hippie perm, they didn't layer it too much, just cleanly trimmed off the damaged parts.

Checking curl progress during the perm process

They wrapped the rods carefully, checking regularly that the perm was taking well. It didn't take as long as I expected — about 2.5 hours total. The cushion seat was so comfy too, and the staff made me feel relaxed, so time flew, haha.

After the shampoo, while blow-drying, they gave me a clear explanation of how to maintain it. For a hippie perm, all you really need is a towel dry and drying the scalp area properly — that's it! No need to fuss over the lower parts, which they said was super convenient — and it really was, so easy.

How the hippie perm curls turned out on chest-length hair

The moment of truth... ah, I love it so much~~~~~~~ Exactly the thickness and placement I wanted! Every section got the curl evenly, no gaps. Totally. Satisfied.

Hippie perm curls starting from above the temples

I also loved that the curls started right from above the temples.

The next day, after washing and fully drying it, I liked it even more. Looks even better in person. Friends who saw it in real life told me it suited me perfectly and that I got my hair done so well, haha. It felt like the whole vibe changed — more playful, maybe? Looks great in a half-up style, or up high too~~

One more reason to recommend Naple Hair: donations and points

Great hair, kind staff, everything's great — but here's one more thing I loved! I noticed something at the counter and wondered what it was.

Child donation notice placed at the counter
Save the Children donation campaign notice

Getting my hair done helps children in need!? Apparently every Naple Hair branch donates a portion of monthly profits toward child welfare. What a good company. Besides their partnership with Save the Children, they also donate ₩100 for every single customer visit. Honestly doing better ESG than my own company, lol.

Big discounts plus point accumulation... talk about generous. If you turn on Naver notifications you even get a four-leaf clover. Put me in such a good mood, haha. The bag is also so cute, all green and lovely.

Verdict on the thick hippie perm at Naple Hair

The most important thing — the skill! They're really, really good at hair. They just execute exactly what you want, smoothly, and I was so satisfied. And the best part — you know how you always leave a salon feeling scolded somehow? Not here. Super kind and super skilled, ugh. Customer service was top notch.

I was seen by Designer Yeojin, and she's clearly amazing at perms.... Kind without being overbearing, made me feel at ease. Just a heads up, her day off is every Sunday and every other Wednesday.

You can easily book through Naver Reservation and get discounts. I'm definitely planning to come back again... so satisfied.
