Ramen ordered by broth number near Incheon Terminal: Menya Seoul

In short

Menya Seoul Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch is a ramen restaurant on basement level 1 of Lotte Department Store in Guwol-dong, Michuhol, Incheon, connected directly to Incheon Terminal Station on Incheon Line 1. Two diners ordered the dongpo pork mala broth double single dish for 16,500 won and the dongpo pork mild broth set for 17,900 won with a small sweet soy chicken rice bowl as the set side, then shared the red mala and white broths between them. Because you only say the broth number when ordering, Menya Seoul is an easy pick for two people with different spice preferences.

This time I'm writing an honest review of a ramen spot I actually visited in Guwol-dong, Incheon — Menya Seoul✨, known for doing ramen really well.

Where is Menya Seoul in Incheon, and how do you get there?

Menya Seoul, the Guwol-dong ramen spot everyone raves about, is on the basement floor of Lotte Department Store Incheon, connected to Incheon Terminal Station on Incheon Line 1 — really convenient to reach by public transit.

Ramen models displayed in front of the register at Menya Seoul

In front of the register, each ramen on sale is shown as a model dish, which made me think a lot harder about what to order. It was nice being able to check out what's on the menu just by walking past and looking at the models.

The dongpo pork char siu ramen's claim to fame is the combination of dongpo pork made from 100g of raw pork belly, a broth deepened with 25 ingredients, and ajitama egg aged for 48 hours — supposedly the best of all worlds. I'd been craving a really rich broth that day, so I was already hyped haha •••

How to order at Menya Seoul: broth numbers, menus and prices

The menu at Menya Seoul is split broadly into dongpo pork and jambon, and each is numbered by broth type, so you just say the number and whether you want a single dish or a set — really convenient.

  • No. 1 (dongpo pork) mild broth [set] ₩17,900 — side: sweet soy chicken rice bowl (small)
  • No. 6 (dongpo pork) mala broth [double single dish] ₩16,500
  • ⭐️ The mala broth ramen comes with cilantro, so if you can't eat it, tell them to leave it out beforehand
Buzzer and Coca-Cola keycap keyring received after ordering

After ordering, they gave us a buzzer, and it seems like there was some kind of event going on, because they also handed us a Coca-Cola keycap keyring for ordering a set. I've been obsessed with keycaps lately and wear one every day, so it felt like a nice surprise gift.

Chili oil and vinegar set out on the table

On each table there's chili oil and vinegar set out, great to pair with ramen or mazesoba — if you order mazesoba, spicy ramen, or cold ramen, try adding these for a different flavor!

Since it's a department store food court, the food came out after just a short wait. Look at this mouthwatering sight — jambon and dongpo pork piled generously on top •••💦

I'd recommend this dongpo pork ramen with mala broth to anyone who loves mala! I'm not really a fan of mala myself, but the person next to me kept exclaiming and savoring it, saying the mala broth flavor was truly excellent.

I usually go for red broth, but oddly, when it comes to ramen, I always end up choosing white broth without fail, and today was no exception — I ordered the mild broth. The toppings were pretty varied too — dongpo pork, bean sprouts, seaweed, minced garlic, green onion, jambon — so I got to enjoy both looking at it and eating it.

The noodles had a springy, chewy texture that soaked up the deep ramen broth really well, and the seasoning was fairly salty in a good way.

The dongpo pork on top of the ramen didn't disappoint either. It's pretty thick but not dry at all — when I gently broke it apart with my chopsticks, it fell apart easily with a moist, tender texture, and I enjoyed it piled on top of the ramen :D

The set side: sweet soy chicken rice bowl (small)

This is the sweet soy chicken rice bowl that comes with the set — the rice is topped with seaweed, chopped green onion, and pickled radish, plus crispy fried chicken coated in sweet soy sauce, with a generous amount of bonito flakes on top. The portion was quite generous for a side dish.

Returning your tray, and is Menya Seoul worth it?

After finishing our meal, we self-returned our trays at the bussing station set up at the back of the restaurant — the signage for it was clear, so it wasn't hard to find, and it made for a smooth end to the meal.

With a fairly wide variety of menu items to pick from based on your taste, Menya Seoul✨, the go-to ramen spot in Guwol-dong, is great — the set compositions are nice, and there's fun in customizing your own ramen with different toppings. If you're looking for a good restaurant near Incheon Terminal or a ramen spot in Guwol-dong, I'd recommend Menya Seoul without hesitation🩶
