Today I went to Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Guwol Moraenae Market Station Branch, known by word of mouth as one of the best sundae-guk (blood sausage soup) places in Guwol-dong, for sundae-guk and samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup).
Mornings and evenings have been getting chilly with a bigger temperature swing lately... perfect conditions to catch a cold.

That's exactly when a bubbling hot pot of sundae-guk is the truth for recharging your energy.
Where is Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk, and is there parking?

The restaurant is a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Moraenae Market. **Parking is a bit limited, so I'd recommend taking public transit!

Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk is a well-known sundae-guk place from Yongin, and offers uncooked / ready-to-go takeout too. **They serve what feels like 3 portions for the price of 2 — a generous sundae-guk spot!
There's also a waiting area, so you can wait comfortably. A Guwol-dong soup restaurant with no break time.
Inside the restaurant: tablet ordering and what's on the menu

The interior was clean and comfortable, fitting for a well-regarded Guwol-dong soup restaurant. There were tables sized for different group counts, and simple drinking-snack menu items too, so some diners were pairing their sundae-guk with a drink.

Ordering is easy via the tablet at each table. As a sundae specialist, there's a wide range — sundae-guk, pork bone soup (with sundae / organs / head meat left out as you like), sundae only, organs only, bone hangover soup, head meat, drinking-snack soup, and more. I heard they'd just launched new menu items, sundae-gopchang jeongol (blood sausage and tripe hot pot) and samgyetang, so today I ordered the new samgyetang.

Basic side dishes that pair well with sundae-guk come with your order — diced radish kimchi, kimchi, peppers, chili paste, salted shrimp, and more.

If you want more, there's a self-serve bar, so you can take as much as you'll eat :)
Gyeongseong sundae-guk: chewy chapsundae in rich pork bone broth

The Gyeongseong sundae-guk arrived bubbling in a hot stone bowl — you can customize it if you can't eat organs or meat.
Generous portion of ingredients for the price, so I'd recommend this Gyeongseong hanwoo (Korean beef) sundae-guk to anyone who wants to fill up on one bowl.

True to a great Guwol-dong soup place, the chapsundae (chewy blood sausage) here is different from regular sundae — nicely chewy! The portion was generous and packed with meat, which made for a very filling meal.

The broth itself is deep and milky-white, clearly simmered from bone stock — rich flavor at its best, and even better once you mix in rice. Totally satisfying!

It goes great with the diced radish kimchi too, and pairing the soup with the side dishes made it even better. Mixing sundae and meat together, or ordering organs only, both worked well.
New samgyetang with a child: 15 minutes to cook

I ordered the samgyetang to share with my child, and it takes about 15 minutes. Since cooking takes some time after ordering, I'd recommend calling the restaurant ahead if you plan to try the new samgyetang!

The chicken itself was big and plump, and the milky-white broth just looked healthy at a glance.

There's sticky rice stuffed inside the chicken, so it works well as a filling meal instead of rice on the side.

The chicken breast wasn't dry at all — soft and tender through and through, so both my kid and I enjoyed a satisfying bowl.
There was also a coffee machine on the way out, nice for cutting through the heaviness after the meal — a real find near Moraenae Market.
