Sindang Seoul Korean BBQ fried rice: Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang
In short
Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Sindang Direct Branch is a Korean beef intestine restaurant near Sindang Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. After work, my friend and I had three servings of gopchang, grilled by the staff, with minari-garlic sauce and kkakdugi fried rice. Verdict: the generously filled intestines and crispy pan rice made this a memorable meal.

A Korean beef intestine spot near Sindang Station
The real essence of hanwoo gopchang (Korean beef small intestine)! When the weather flips from hot to chilly like this, you know you start craving something hearty and rich, right? My friend and I went for gopchang after work 😋

It is on the first floor at 243-1 Dasan-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, just a one-minute walk from Exit 7 of Sindang Station. Could the access be any better?! It was 6 p.m. on a weekday and there was already a wait. A real popular spot indeed..

Maybe because it was featured on episode 667 of Live Info Show on June 11, 2013, people kept coming in right up until we started eating.
The menu and a comfortable interior

- Hanwoo gopchang ₩19,000
- Hanwoo daechang ₩19,000
- Hanwoo makchang ₩20,000
- Kkakdugi yangbap ₩9,000
- Anchovy noodles ₩6,000

The interior was clean and brightly lit, with plenty of space between tables, so we could eat comfortably. Best of all, the ventilation was great, so the grilling smell did not cling too much to our clothes. Good!
Minari-garlic sauce and house-made kimchi

One reason I love this place is this sauce. Packed with minari (water parsley) and minced garlic, it cuts through the richness of the gopchang and brings out so much savory flavor.

And this kimchi—every bit of it is made in-house. Isn't that amazing?? I mean.. house-made kimchi. That is why I could eat it with confidence.

I loved how every single side dish felt thoughtfully prepared.
Order plenty of gopchang from the start

The two of us ordered three servings of gopchang, and for your first order, definitely do n+1. If you run short and order more while eating, you have to wait a long time and it breaks the flow, so ordering generously is important.

The staff grill everything for you, and seriously, the filling here is incredible.

Seriously, this place's gopchang.. all that fat renders out, and the nutty flavor is no joke. When the gopchang was nearly done, a staff member came over to adjust the heat and tell us when to eat it, so even first-timers can enjoy it without any trouble.

The gopchang packed with filling was especially good: crisp outside, juicy inside~ and the rich filling just melted in my mouth.

Can you see how full it is? This really is one of those lifetime favorite restaurants.

I have probably been here about ten times, and every visit still amazes me.. How can it taste this moving? Dip the hot gopchang in this sauce and it cools it down while adding sweet-and-tangy flavor, making it even better.

I just kept reaching for it..!!

The seasoned chives were sweet and tangy too, a perfect match.
Finish with kkakdugi fried rice

The steamed egg that came as a basic side. While eating gopchang.. the steamed egg got pushed to the back burner, haha.

It was soft and delicious.

After gopchang, you have to fry rice for the true finish, right? What more is there to say? We polished off a bowl! We even scraped up every bit of nurungji (crispy scorched rice) stuck to the pan. Truly, it was lifetime-best fried rice.

The fantastic combination of crunchy kkakdugi, mild teukyang (beef omasum), and garlic. Every piece of gopchang tasted fresh, and you could tell it had been cleaned carefully with no unpleasant odor. The service was kind and quick as well, so we had a lovely meal—and I highly recommend it as a restaurant that can satisfy everyone from gopchang beginners to enthusiasts!
