Large spicy sundae hot pot near Juan Station, Incheon: Suraok

In short

Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch is a sundae soup (blood sausage soup) restaurant right in front of exit 6 of Juan Station in Michuhol, Incheon. Instead of the usual sundae soup, this visit meant the large sundae hot pot in a spicy broth plus four extra bowls of rice, generously filled with sundae, tripe and meat — exactly right for a chilly day. A receipt-review event also brought a free bottle of Chum-Churum soju, so Suraok Sundaeguk is an easy recommendation for anyone near Juan Station after Korean soup or hot pot.

Now that the chilly wind is starting to blow, it's the season for craving warm soup. I went back to Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch, the sundae soup restaurant near Juan Station I'd been so happy with last time.

Where is Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch? Right by exit 6

It seems word has spread that this is a top sundae soup spot in Juan, because there were way more customers than last time. Almost had to wait in line lol

Why order the sundae hot pot instead of sundae soup?

Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch, true to its reputation, has a variety of menu items centered around sundae soup. Last time I had the spicy sundae soup and it was so good, so this time I decided to try the sundae hot pot, which has that same spicy broth base!

Table ordering and the receipt-review event at Suraok Sundaeguk

At Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch, you can order and pay right at the table, easy and simple. There's also currently a receipt review event where you get a sundae course meal, alcohol, or a drink for free. Can't pass up a Naver receipt review event like this..

And you could pick the review-event item right when ordering your food. We chose soju (Chamisul Original) for the alcohol option.. isn't soju basically required with sundae soup? Hahahaha. Besides alcohol, you could also get a drink or the sundae course meal through the review event.

We ordered the sundae hot pot (large), four extra bowls of rice, and one bottle of Chamisul Original from the review event.

What comes with the meal: banchan and the self-serve bar

The table setting comes standard with chives, onion, chili, and seriously tasty kkakdugi (radish kimchi) plus ssamjang/shrimp sauce, but if you want more, you can help yourself at the self-serve bar. The self-serve bar was also kept very hygienically.

Standard banchan arranged on a long vertical tray

It felt like the kind of sundae soup fit for a royal table... neatly arranged banchan. It comes out all at once on a long, vertical tray. And the kimchi here is genuinely delicious. It pairs perfectly with the soup — not heavy at all, refreshing. Absolutely refill-worthy.

And here's that kkakdugi. Seriously a winner... even the color alone looks delicious.

What's inside the large sundae hot pot: sundae, tripe and meat

And the sundae hot pot (large) came out quickly too. It's a hot pot with a spicy broth base, and with the weather turning cold, it'd be perfect to simmer in winter! Sundae hot pot doesn't just mean sundae — it's also loaded with tripe and various cuts of meat. They also sell a separate tripe hot pot, but there's plenty of tripe in the sundae hot pot too, so you can just choose based on whether you prefer sundae or tripe more. Whatever you order, it'll probably be good.

True to being the large size, this sundae hot pot from Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch, the Juan sundae soup spot, was loaded with vegetables, sundae, and meat. It comes out already cooked... but I decided to simmer it a bit more before eating.

Chamisul Original goes so well with that spicy broth. Drinking's bad for your health, but not drinking soju with sundae hot pot is basically a foul.

Heaped bowls of rice and a free yakult on the way out

But honestly, this sundae hot pot from Suraok, the Juan sundae soup spot, is better as a rice dish than a drinking one. And the rice here.. they give you a real mountain of rice lolllll. Such a generous place.

I always get sundae soup here, but trying the hot pot this time was different and delicious in its own way?! But then again, since this place is famous for its sundae soup, that does seem to be the foundation. Every other table was eating sundae soup, after all.

A mountain of rice served alongside the hot pot spread

And on the way out, free yakult! When I came in summer, I think there was ice water and ice cream service, but now that it's gotten chilly, it's yakult instead. A sweet send-off from Suraok Sundaeguk Juan Station Branch, the sundae soup spot near Juan Station.

I really don't think there's a better sundae soup place near Juan Station. If you're near Juan Station looking for soup or sundae hot pot, this is a Juan sundae soup spot worth recommending.
