Uijeongbu bakery for Dubai salt bread discounts: Byway Bakers

In short

Byway Bakers Cheongsa Main Branch is a takeout-friendly bakery in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. I chose a 5,600-won fig pistachio tart, 6,500-won chocolate baguette, and discounted 6,500-won Dubai salt bread, but the Wakkbu salt bread was sold out. A lovely stop for baked treats, but go early for popular items.

I was in the Uijeongbu area and stopped by Byway Bakers Cheongsa Main Branch (바이웨이 베이커스 청사본점) to pick up some tasty bread and desserts :)

An Uijeongbu bakery with lots of salt bread and financiers

I usually love baked treats such as salt bread and financiers, so I came across this place while looking for bakeries in Uijeongbu.

And they really did have a wide variety of salt bread and financiers ready to go. The shop is on the small side, but it was clean and prettily decorated, so I felt happy as soon as I walked in.

The cozy, clean atmosphere inside the bakery

That said, it feels more like a bakery that is great for takeout than a café space where you sit and eat. (There are only seats outside!) So it seemed like a nice place to stop by when you have errands nearby, pick out some bread or dessert, and take it with you.

Three desserts I chose from the display case

When I visited, the display case and shelves were filled with all kinds of bread and desserts. There were salt breads, financiers, baguette-style breads, tarts, and more, so it was hard to choose just one haha.

They also sell several kinds of financiers and salt bread, with discounted packages available when you buy multiple items. After thinking it over, I picked three things that day.

Bread and desserts prepared in the display case and on the shelves

Fig pistachio tart, ₩5,600

First up was the fig pistachio tart, which I loved the look of right away! I picked it because the combination of fig and pistachio seemed perfect for anyone who likes desserts that are nutty and sweet. The tart was beautifully made, so it would be nice to eat as is, enjoy at home for dessert, or even prepare as a gift.

Chocolate baguette, ₩6,500

My second choice was the chocolate baguette! I chose it as a sweet, dessert-like option that was a little different from a typical baguette, and it caught my eye because I like bread with chocolate in it. It was quite large, so it looked like a good one to take home and share as a snack.

Dubai salt bread sale and sold-out Wakkbu salt bread

Dubai salt bread ₩7,500 → ₩6,500 sale price

And then there was the Dubai salt bread I was most excited about! There are so many Dubai chocolate-style desserts around these days, so I was curious about a version made as salt bread and decided to try it.

It was originally ₩7,500, but the price had been reduced to ₩6,500! I happily bought one. With salt bread's signature savory flavor paired with sweet chocolate notes, it seemed like a menu item that would appeal if you usually enjoy sweet-and-salty desserts.

Actually, there was another item I had wanted to buy that day... the Wakkbu salt bread!

I had heard that Byway's Wakkbu salt bread was famous, so I really wanted to try it this time… but sadly, every single one was sold out when I visited ㅠㅠ

There are especially several varieties of Wakkbu salt bread, so next time I want to visit a little earlier and make sure I try them. I have also heard in other visit reviews that popular items can sell out quickly, so if you are visiting for a particular menu item, I think it is best to go early.

I was disappointed that the item I wanted was sold out, but it was still fun looking at all the other desserts. If you are looking for good financiers or salt bread in Uijeongbu, this is a place worth visiting at least once! If, like me, you are coming for popular items, I recommend arriving a little early because what you want may be sold out. I was so sad I missed the Wakkbu salt bread this time that I am definitely going back to try it when I am in Uijeongbu again haha.

Fig tart, chocolate baguette, and Dubai salt bread

This time I chose the fig pistachio tart, chocolate baguette, and Dubai salt bread, but next time I want to pick out several kinds of financiers too! If you are looking for a place to take away pretty desserts or bread in Uijeongbu, I recommend Byway Bakers Cheongsa Main Branch :)
