Why we chose Dongchuwon Bulgogi, a Korean beef hot pot restaurant near Singi Market in Incheon
I wanted to eat something good today and also get a change of mood with my family after a while, so we went out. I'm a huge fan of bulgogi and hot pot dishes, and after looking around and seeing such great reviews, I headed to Dongchuwon Bulgogi, a well-known spot near Singi Market.

The lunch and signature bulgogi menus looked so good in both composition and price that even before going in, I was already thinking I'd have to try other menu items next time.
Dongchuwon Bulgogi Hours: 11:00 - 21:30 (last order 20:30) Parking support available

Parking at Dongchuwon Bulgogi: Seonjeong lot across the street and how long it's covered
If you're driving, it's convenient to use the Seonjeong parking lot right across from Dongchuwon Bulgogi. Limited to one car per table, they support parking for 30 minutes with meal menus and up to 1 hour 30 minutes if you order from the cooked-dish menu, so bringing a car felt completely stress-free haha :) (₩2,000 per 30 minutes after that).

And as I was heading in through the entrance, there was a Blue Ribbon Survey sticker and a master craftsman plaque hanging right by the door! I'd already come because I heard it was a great restaurant, but seeing the Blue Ribbon and master craftsman certification really got my expectations up before I'd even eaten.

Inside Dongchuwon Bulgogi: the dining room and the private group space
Walking inside Dongchuwon Bulgogi, the interior was clean and stylish. The tables, floor, and lighting tone all came together in a vibe that was comfortable and sophisticated without feeling heavy, so my first impression was great. I also loved that the tables were spaced far apart, so you could dine privately.

Further inside, there was a space set up for groups or families to dine privately together. It looked like a perfectly fine spot for a big extended-family gathering or Incheon family get-together, so I thought I should bring all my relatives here next time!

What we ordered at Dongchuwon Bulgogi: Korean beef hot pot (medium) and grilled squid
- Korean beef hot pot (medium)
- Grilled squid

This time, since we wanted a refined, deep flavor, after much deliberation we went with the Korean beef hot pot (medium) as our main and grilled squid as a side.

While we waited after ordering, a set of refined side dishes was laid out. From the clean, fresh salad to the appetite-stimulating banchan, you could tell every single one was made with care. I kept thinking how great this cleanliness would be if I came here to eat with my parents or family.

Free banchan, dessert and drinks at the Dongchuwon Bulgogi self-serve corner
If you run short on side dishes while eating, you can use the self-serve corner set up on one side of Dongchuwon Bulgogi. You could freely grab as much of the basic vegetables and banchan as you wanted without feeling self-conscious, which was really convenient and satisfying.
On top of that, the self-serve corner also had small desserts and drinks thoughtfully prepared, which made for a great way to cleanse the palate after the meal.

How the Korean beef hot pot (medium) tasted: we drank the refill broth too
Finally, the main dish, the Korean beef hot pot (medium), arrived. The vegetables were so fresh, and it came packed full of mushrooms I love, plenty of vegetables, and beautifully colored Korean beef — it was satisfying just to look at. Because the broth had been simmered long and deep, it was rich and clean, on a completely different level from the hot pots I've had elsewhere. They also had the thoughtful touch of preparing extra broth in advance. For the record, I finished that extra broth too.
The Korean beef in particular had visible, intact grain and outstanding quality. As the broth bubbled away and I lightly cooked the meat, being premium Korean beef, it melted softly in my mouth while still having great texture, so it disappeared in no time.
Dipping the vegetables, mushrooms, and Korean beef together into the special sauce, the spicy kick and savory richness of the broth blended together wonderfully — so satisfying. The broth was hearty enough that even big eaters would have no trouble getting full.

The grilled squid side: smoky, sweet and spicy
While we were happily enjoying the hot pot, the grilled squid we'd ordered as a side arrived. I was surprised — it looked far more upscale than expected, and the smoky aroma hit my nose right away. Char-grilled, the squid was chewy without being tough at all, and the sweet-and-spicy sauce infused with smoky flavor was truly excellent.

Taking a spoonful of the rich, savory Korean beef hot pot broth, then piling on a piece of the sweet-and-spicy grilled squid with rice — the combination was truly perfect.

If you visit Dongchuwon Bulgogi, a well-known bulgogi restaurant in Incheon, be sure to add the grilled squid as a side. It was so good I wanted to get some to take home.
