Incheon Korean restaurant late lunch: Hantiok bossam and pork stir-fry

Today I went to Hantiok, a Korean restaurant in the basement of Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch in Guwol-dong! I wander around Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch a lot when I'm eating solo. The basement food hall has plenty of options for solo diners and lots of quick bites, but I'd worked well past my usual lunchtime, so instead of something light I really wanted a proper, filling Korean meal. Where is Hantiok? B1 of Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch

Lotte Department Store is connected underground to Incheon Terminal Station and the food court. When you're looking for somewhere to eat at Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch, there's plenty of Western food, noodles, and quick meals, but when I want a real meal, Korean food is still the first thing that comes to mind.

Hantiok is in the basement food hall of the department store, so it's convenient for a meal while shopping, or, like me, for lunch after running errands around Guwol-dong. ₍꜆ᵔ˶ . ̫.˶ᵔ₎꜆

Seating at Hantiok: restaurant tables or the shared food court hall

You can eat at the tables set up alongside the Hantiok storefront, or use the seating (shared hall) in the food court.

Hantiok menu: single dishes and full set meals

There are food models set up in front of the restaurant, which makes choosing a lot easier. Each dish's composition is shown with a model, and honestly the resemblance to the real thing is 100 percent (⌯︎¤̴̶̷̀ ᴗ ¤̴̶̷́⌯︎)✧

The menu ranges from rice soups (gukbap) to noodle dishes. (⸝⸝ɞ̴̶̷ ⩊ ɞ̴̶̷ ྀི) Every dish can be ordered à la carte or as a set meal (bansang), and ordering the set adds bossam or pork stir-fry plus side dishes. If you want a heartier meal, I'd recommend the set meal option!

What we ordered at Hantiok and what it cost

• Bossam jeongsik (boiled pork wrap set meal) ₩22,000 × 2
• Pork bulgogi stir-fry ₩6,000

I was going to just order the bossam jeongsik, but the pork stir-fry model looked so good that I added it too — and in the end that turned out to be a really good call (* ॑꒳ ॑* )⋆*

Once the food arrived, the whole spread was more generous than I expected — even more so than the models. Bossam was the centerpiece, with rice and various side dishes arranged neatly around it, exactly the kind of hearty Korean meal I wanted that day! Rice really is the strength of Koreans after all ₍₍ (ง* ॑꒳ ॑*)ว ⁾⁾

Bossam jeongsik, 22,000 won: the boiled pork is the main event

True to its name, the bossam jeongsik's bossam (boiled pork wraps) came out really generously portioned ໒₍ ܸ o̴̶̷ ه o̴̶̷ ܸ ₎১ I tried the main dish first, and the meat was seriously tender and delicious.

It went well with the side dishes, and wrapped up with the radish kimchi served alongside, it was a perfect match. Eating it together with rice made for a really satisfying meal.

Spicy stir-fried pork for 6,000 won more: the rice thief of the day

And one of the dishes I enjoyed most that day was actually the pork stir-fry I added on. ‎꒰ ᐢ｡o̶̶̷ ·̫ o̶̶̷｡ᐢ ꒱ It was only ₩6,000, so I added it without much thought, but the portion was genuinely generous and it was so tasty. I especially loved the subtle smoky char flavor, and eaten with rice it was an absolute rice-stealer — so of course I ended up ordering an extra bowl of rice.

Personally, if you're eating at Hantiok, I'd recommend adding the pork stir-fry from the side menu! Paying ₩6,000 extra for one more dish let us enjoy a wider variety across the table, and the whole spread felt richer for it ദ്ദി ՞• ·̫ •՞ ꒱

Seasoning and side dishes: why Hantiok works with kids too

Overall the seasoning at Hantiok was well balanced and the dishes came out neatly arranged, so I thought it would be a good place to bring kids too. Rather than eating one strongly flavored dish alone, having several side dishes plus rice and meat together definitely felt like a proper, filling meal!

Verdict: Hantiok when you want a proper meal in Guwol-dong

There are so many places to eat at Lotte Department Store Incheon Branch, but on days like this when I want proper Korean food, I'd recommend Hantiok in the basement (ﾉﾞ⌯'⌄'⌯)ﾉﾞ* The bossam jeongsik I ordered comes with generous bossam, a variety of side dishes, and beef soup, all neatly served, and adding the pork stir-fry meant I got to taste that smoky pork too, which I loved❤️

A place worth remembering if you're looking for lunch in Guwol-dong, want a hearty Korean meal near Gwangyo-dong, or find yourself wanting a real meal while shopping at Lotte Department Store. Next time I visit, I think I'll add the pork stir-fry again too.
