Hey everyone 🐽 Today I'm introducing a raw shrimp sashimi spot in Guwol-dong, Incheon! Here's my detailed visit review of Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch (베테랑종합어시장 인천구월점)~
Where is Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch, and when is it open?
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch is open daily from 11:00 to 03:00, with last order at 02:00, and has no regular closing days. It's 471m from Exit 6 of Yesulhoegwan Station, so it's walkable, and for parking I'd recommend using the restaurant's basement lot or the Incheon Lotte Department Store parking lot.

Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch, a Guwol-dong sashimi restaurant and raw shrimp sashimi spot! Maybe because shrimp is in season these days, I've seen a lot of people ordering shrimp sashimi lately~ Since I was already out in Guwol-dong, I decided to stop by for some!

There's a tank right at the entrance, and it's packed with huge shrimp!

The inside is really spacious and there was no wait, but even though it was a weekday lunch, there were tons of customers!

Side dishes, the free self-bar and the free pajeon
Here are the default side dishes! Kimchi, salted pollock roe, salad, sauces, and even seaweed soup~

There's a self-bar, so if you need more of anything you can just grab it yourself!

Everything from the default side dishes is there, plus wrapping vegetables and ramen noodles!

And get this — you can even have pajeon (savory pancake) for free!

They pour on plenty of oil and grill it as crisp as possible haha. It's kimchi-jeon style, and once it's done cooking it looks great!
Grilled crispy like that, the texture is great too, and it's such a nice light bite before the sashimi~ Can't believe this is free!!
Menu and what we ordered at Veteran General Fish Market
The menu is huge with so many options that I ended up filming it as a video! From great-value set menus and lunch menus to all kinds of sashimi and rice dishes!

After debating what to order alongside the shrimp sashimi, I went with: raw shrimp sashimi (small) – ₩39,000 / hoedeopbap (special) – ₩9,000 / Zero Coke – ₩2,000~!
Hoedeopbap (sashimi rice bowl), special size – 9,000 won

First up, the hoedeopbap (raw fish rice bowl)! It came loaded with various vegetables, flying fish roe, and plenty of sashimi! Being the special version, there was quite a lot of fish piled on, which I loved haha. The rice was nice and fluffy too — totally my style~

Once you mix in the chogochujang (vinegared chili paste), it looks so good your appetite just wakes right up! Eating the fresh vegetables and chewy sashimi together with the rice was so tasty!! Yeah, as a Korean, you gotta have your rice haha.
Raw shrimp sashimi, small size – 39,000 won for 15 shrimp

The raw shrimp sashimi arrived while I was still working on the hoedeopbap!! Even as the small size, the portion was huge~ A total of 15 shrimp come out, and the heads are served separately, butter-grilled! Can you see how plump and glossy it looks? So good haha, and the size is huge too, they just look delicious.

Look at that plump shrimp texture~! One bite in and with that bouncy chew and sweet flavor coming through, I totally got why people eat shrimp as sashimi haha.

Both the buldak mayo sauce and the wasabi-soy sauce that came with it paired really well and tasted great! The buldak mayo especially cut through the slight richness of the sashimi, which I liked haha.

It's great eaten with the hoedeopbap too, or dipped in makjang (spicy dipping sauce) — either way works well~! Honestly the raw shrimp sashimi on its own is just.so.good. If I had the money I'd want to eat this every day haha.

It was lunch but I totally overate haha.
Verdict: is this the place for raw shrimp sashimi in Guwol-dong?
Veteran General Fish Market Incheon Guwol Branch, a raw shrimp sashimi restaurant in Incheon! It's a place where you can enjoy the seasonal raw shrimp sashimi as well as all kinds of other sashimi! The fresh raw shrimp sashimi had that plump, sweet flavor that made it seriously delicious~!!
The hoedeopbap I paired with it also had a generous amount of sashimi in it, so it worked well as a full meal too~ The self-bar with its variety of side dishes even had free pajeon and ramen noodles, so I ended up overeating for the first time in a while haha.
