Croquette curry rice and spicy pepperoni pasta in Yuseong, Daejeon

I went to Gatjidong in Noeun-dong, a Yuseong favorite, and had curry rice, gyudon, and pasta ෆ Whenever I visit Gatjidong, the portions are huge and it's a genuinely delicious spot.

Parking and the vibe inside

You can park in the alley in front of the restaurant.

The inside is spacious and clean! Every time I go, I notice the staff are really kind.

There are so many menu items — please check the video! Salmon dishes, pasta, pork cutlets, soba, udon, rice bowls — the menu is huge!!! With so many choices at such reasonable prices, it's a great spot for anyone of any age.

The self-serve corner has side dishes, rice, broth, and soup ready. Anyone can use it!

The broth is really rich and delicious!!

Bowls, pickled radish, and kimchi are also self-serve!

Basic side dishes are pickled radish, kimchi, and broth. I skipped the soup since I figured I'd already be full, haha.

How does the croquette curry rice taste?

The croquette curry rice and gyudon came out first! The bowls are seriously huge lol. Such a big portion!

The curry rice feels a bit like hayashi rice. It's really thick and there's a lot of sauce.

I mixed the rice in and the curry was so thick and rich, it was delicious.

They gave chili flakes on the side so you can adjust the spice level to your taste! Sprinkling them on made it spicy and delicious. Highly recommend!

Two big chunks of potato croquette come with it, and they look really crispy, right?

There's corn and potato inside, and the outside is super crispy while the inside is really soft! It melts in your mouth.

Curry rice needs kimchi.

It's also delicious with croquette on top, haha. Highly recommend the curry.

Just how big is the gyudon portion?

Next up is the gyudon. First off, the portion is really huge. It comes out in something like a washbasin lol.

The meat is well seasoned, so just mixing it up gives it the right flavor and it's delicious!!

It felt a bit like a beef bulgogi rice bowl? There's a lot of meat and no gamey smell, so I enjoyed it a lot!

Spicy pepperoni cream pasta

Next up is the spicy pepperoni pasta!

I thought there wouldn't be much pepperoni, but there was actually a ton inside lol.

The sauce is really thick and, as expected, the portion is huge too. And it's spicier than I expected!!

Because it's spicy, the cream sauce isn't the least bit greasy, and I really enjoyed it!

There's even a nostalgic lucky draw machine, haha. Yuseong favorite Gatjidong always gives you a filling, delicious meal no matter when you go! With such a varied menu and affordable prices, I recommend giving it a visit ♥️
