Sokcho café for potato and sweet potato bread: Cafe Neorae

A Sokcho trip for the first time in ages! ◡̎ I drove hard from early in the morning because I was worried about traffic, and gosh, I was so tired?! So, starting the trip at a café! Cafe Neorae (카페너래), a Seoraksan café in Sokcho famous for its amazing Ulsanbawi Rock view.

Cafe Neorae is a Sokcho café in the Kongkkot Village sundubu (soft tofu stew) district of Nohak-dong. Cafe Neorae is run on the second and third floors of the Yetgoeul Sundubu building on the first floor! There’s a parking attendant on site, so I don’t think parking will be a worry!

The open café view from the second floor alone feels healing ◡̎! The seats are spacious and the sense of openness is great, so anywhere is a good place to sit, haha. You order on the second floor :)

There’s even a photo spot farther inside on the second floor, haha.

There’s a hidden spot inside too, with seats facing the window, so it would be nice for zoning out or having a quiet conversation! The second floor has more of a lush, nature-friendly feel than an Ulsanbawi view?!

The staircase going up to the third floor feels somehow exotic.

On the third floor, Ulsanbawi Rock and green rice fields come together beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows—such a lovely view that just sitting there feels healing. Of course, the day I went was the day it rained... Sadlyㅠㅠ, it had been raining since morning, so I couldn’t see the Ulsanbawi panorama.

There’s another hidden spot inside on the third floor that’s great for enjoying some quiet reflection ❤︎ If you come alone or want to enjoy a peaceful moment to yourself, I recommend these seats!

The women-only restroom on the third floor is spacious and clean. Since this Sokcho café gets lots of families, there was even a diaper-changing station in the restroom! The men’s restroom is to the right of the order counter on the second floor!

Potato bread, sweet potato bread, and Neorae tea

There aren’t tons of bread options, but they all looked delicious haha. I picked the potato bread and sweet potato bread!

They also had quite a variety of unusual cakes, including Chodang sweet corn, honey sweet potato, and black sesame mochi... haha.

With the Naver receipt event, you receive handmade cream made with biji (soy pulp) OR a Neorae cookie.

It was raining and a little chilly, so I got Neorae tea and a hot Americano for the first time in ages! True to my love for starchy root vegetables, I picked potato and sweet potato bread too, haha.

Neorae tea is a biji tea, and it was wonderfully nutty, haha. It went really well with the potato and sweet potato bread too! The potato bread... it genuinely looks just like a potato, but it tastes exactly like one too, haha. Even the chewy texture was delicious :)

The outside of the sweet potato bread doesn’t look like a sweet potato, but it’s packed with sweet potato inside, so it really felt like eating one! I vote for the potato bread over the sweet potato bread.

I was hoping to absorb Ulsanbawi Rock’s energy right in front of me and turn my life around, but I guess it didn’t work because it wasn’t visible that day^^ haha.
