Why we picked Winners Motel for a last-minute night in Sokcho

My husband and I had planned a day trip to Sokcho, but the plan suddenly changed into a two-day, one-night trip, so we had to hunt for a place to stay in a hurry~ Since we only needed somewhere to sleep for one night, I was looking mainly at budget stays in Sokcho, and Winners Motel (위너스모텔) caught my eye with all its reviews saying it was clean and friendly, so we decided to stay the night and went to check it out~ Thanks to a clean, good-value room we had a comfortable night and wrapped up the trip nicely, so let me introduce it~

What were the lobby and facilities like?

Winners Motel made a good impression from the very first look because it was so tidy~ The lobby has a variety of benches and tables set up, so waiting there should be comfortable~ There's also a CU convenience store connected to the motel, which would make it easy to grab simple snacks, alcohol or drinks~

I heard it was also selected as an excellent lodging business in the motel category in 2026, so you shouldn't have to worry about cleanliness, right? The lobby has a water dispenser and even two microwaves, so heating up simple food or baby food should be easy too~

At Winners Motel you can ride the elevator comfortably all the way up to the 8th floor~ And I liked that there's a water dispenser installed on every floor~ Haven't you ever had that experience where you get peckish at night and want a cup noodle, but the electric kettle in the room feels a bit icky to use so you can't bring yourself to touch it, and you end up filling the cup with hot water down at the convenience store and carrying it up, scalding and dangerous? Winners Motel has a water dispenser on every floor, so there's no need to fetch water from the convenience store, which should make eating ramyeon (instant noodles) easy~

Room 603's condition and the blackout blinds

We were assigned room 603~ Let's open the door with the card key and go in~ Beep-beep~

Just look at that glossy floor~ Black is extremely vulnerable to dust, but it was sparkling without a speck of dust, so you could feel how serious they are about cleanliness~ We changed into slippers and went into the room~

The room was a black-and-white combination, clean yet modern~ When we first walked in, sunlight was streaming in pretty strongly through the gap where the window was open, so I worried light would get in while we slept, but thankfully once we closed the blinds no light came in at all and we slept in complete darkness~ The blackout function was the best!!!

The bathroom also had a clean black-and-white interior~ There was a neat bathtub too, which I really liked~ We didn't have time, but if you do, it would be nice to soak away the fatigue of the trip with a half-body bath~ For reference, we didn't use it, but there's also a bidet installed in the bathroom, so those of you who use a bidet can keep that in mind~

The fridge had two bottles of water and two coffee mix sachets in it~ It'd be perfect to buy some cold beer at the convenience store and stash it in there!!!

There's also a comfortable chair and a table that's just right for two, so it looked good for having a simple drink or a late-night snack in the room~ Seeing that table, we too promised to pick up some snacks and beer from the convenience store at night, but we ate so much outside, and we were so tired that we really did nothing but sleep at the motel~ But then I got hungry the moment I opened my eyes in the morning and regretted not eating more the night before haha

A comfortable night after checking even the bed sheets

Before heading out for dinner, I checked the room's condition and did the most important inspection of all, the bed sheets~ Under the duvet with its attractive silk-like sheen, the white sheets were spotless and smelled of freshly laundered fabric, which made me happy~ After the sheet inspection, we went out to eat with a light heart and peace of mind, came back, washed up and slept comfortably~ If you're looking for a clean, good-value place to stay on a Sokcho trip, I recommend Winners Motel!!!
